I found this tree in the middle of the sidewalk in my neighborhood in South Boston. It caught my eye because the rest of the street is so urban and "cold," and does not have much nature. It really stands out in a beautiful way. I went closer and noticed the stunning white blossoms which smelled like Spring. I'm not sure of the name of the tree (please comment if you know!) but I love walking by it each day.

Lauren Warren - Baby Cherry Blossom!

This is a brand new cherry blossom tree that was planted in front of my house about 6-8 months ago. Last summer was the first in our new home, and we realized we have a HUGE amount of sunlight coming through the front of our home during the daytime. It can get very hot, so I called the DPW to ask if they'd plant a tree to try and help this, as we have tons of windows in our house (which we love!). I was amazed that they planted this beautiful tree instead of something a little more standard like a maple or something, and we've been so excited for it to bloom. It is small and just starting to bloom for the first time!

Although the forsythia bush is not a tree I could not help myself from posting it here! I have forsythia bushes on each side of my front door as well as to the left of my yard. To see their burst of color truly nourishes my soul especially when it seems that Spring is taking so very long to come this year!

I have spent 30ish years watching this palm tree grow outside our Florida home! I have felt so lucky to be able to grow up coming here with my family and being able to enjoy all of the vegetation that is so different from home. I love the scents of all the plants and how they're so tropical and different from what we have in the Northeast. Being back here with my children, we watch the sunrise and sunset behind our favorite palm tree every day. In December, we saw a raccoon and a large green iguana make this tree their (temporary) home, so that was also really fun to see.

This tree has become part of our family. It holds the oranges that I leave for the birds every spring. It shades the garden underneath and our deck. I think about how we take trees for granted, but when the gypsy moths wreaked havoc on our trees, I was afraid we might lose this one. It survived, but I was worried just like you would be about a family member.
