In this image, it shows Uncle Sam, kick out Liquor from the U.S. and the liquor running away. The picture also tells that alcohol was officially banned when an amendment was made about it. This person who made this was trying to inform other people of the prohibition while also making fun of it. This political cartoon tells me that people did not want to stop drinking alcohol but instead were forced to by a constitutional amendment.

Jazz Music: Video

This video is a jazz music video from the 1920s. It had a bunch of interesting sounds and almost no clear organized rhythm to it. It tells me that during the 1920s, music that was popular was music that had an organized beat and had a series of instrumental patterns. There is no vocals in the song. This shows that most people during that time simply preferred the sound of the instruments rather than hearing words from a singer, which is a much different culture from today.

This is a photo of a group of women known as "flappers".

Flappers were women who work short dresses and who sported a bobbed hairstyle. In this photo, it can be seen that women at this time were just beginning to break free from societal constraints and this would lead for later generations to embrace more of their identity and possible lead to more freedom for women in the future.

The article says that after WW1 took place, lots of cultures that didn't exist before started existing such as the Flapper Culture, Jazz, and more. The allied forces had won the war. Soldiers who had been gone for months or years came back to their families that they had left behind. After the WW1, authors emerged with great novels about aspects of the war. This tells me that after the was over during the early 1920s, people started embracing who they truly were and new things started blooming from the peoples sense of freedom and victory.

This photo was taken during the prohibition era of the 1920s. This is a photo that was taken in an illegal bar back in the 1920s. I learned from this photo that even though drinking alcohol was banned and no one was allowed to do it, people still did it anyway when they could. I learned from this photo that people during this era were rebellious and obviously loved to drink and enjoy themselves in the company of others. Since they all look very happy when taking the picture, this also shows that people did not care if they were arrested for drinking.

Women's Rights: Article

This article talks about in 1919 the 19th amendment, which allowed women to vote was passed and in 1920 it was ratified because women were allowed to vote. The article talks about how it took almost 100 years for the suffragists to gain this right. A lot of women in 1920 went out to vote in this election. This tells me that back then was just the beginning of women wanting more freedoms and rights. Today womens rights have evolved to feminism and has taken a huge turn towards something that may seem the same on the outside but has changed a lot in essence.
