Hiding in a trench while you hear bullets zip by your head you think “why did I sign up for this”. As the sky turns black you wonder when they are going to run out of bullets. You see your buddy stand up and as soon as he stands up he falls. Both poems grab the main Idea of war and how it impacts you. “Decorum est” gives you a dark understanding of war. Who’s for the game describes the honor of war. In the passages, both poets develop a point by describing the effects of war; although, the intended effect of “decorum est" is to persuade you not to go to war , while “who’s for the game” describes the honor and why you should join the army.
