To show the audience the genre, I decided to add a few artists of this genre on the cover of the magazine. On my Contents page, I added a number to a page that would include hit songs for the summer and top albums. This would then show the audience the genre of music. (older teenagers and young adults). I think this genre of music most appeals to them at this age. Younger teens and children are typically into pop music and those who are of an older age will most likely not listen to indie or alternative, so therefore the magazine wouldn't appeal to them as much. The vocabulary used may not make sense to both younger and older audiences as there is some slang, abbreviation and overall relaxed and colloquial language. In terms of social groups i feel that students, graduates or even those starting to work. This is because, the colour scheme is white, pink/red, and black. The use of bright colours like white and pink may appeal more to girls, where boys go for darker tones. Also, because of some of the cover lines. The use of language and topics may also appeal more to the girl category. She wears a serious expression which suggests confidence, or vulnerability. She is against a white black background. I took all this inspiration from the magazine next to mine, although i did not want to copy the style etc, I put my own twist to it. I tried to keep the cover quite simple, and not filled with tons of writing and images as this makes the cover messy and overpowering. However, I used a variety of colours and tones to catch the audiences eye, like VIBE magazine, which used a bright orange on their cover as this catches your attention. 
Both magazines seem to be for similar social groups and ages.

'Female' targeted magazines will usually include emotional articles, photographs that stereo typically represent women, sexuality and relationship articles. However, 'male' magazines focus on physical strength, dominance in relationships, unrealistic and inspirational based pictures/articles. 
Although i noted that i believe females may be more interested in my magazine, is due to the colour scheme. having pink and red tones in it. Men may see this as being less man like, as a result of stereotypes that surround them.

I represented this age group by being quite, edgy, rebellious ( in a good way ), fun and unique. There are many bad stereotypes for people of these ages, being too loud and different, but in my magazine I celebrate that and turn it into a positive. I have done this by adding an article on my featured artist. There are some other social groups these people may belong to. For example, indie kids and hipsters may read my magazine as the style is quite similar to their interests. I tried my best to represent these groups by being quite unique and outgoing people. I used humorous language, being quite relaxed and free in my choice of words.
