Sometimes, the most meaningful progress and innovation come from leaning into difficult conversations that challenge us and push us beyond what we know. When a stakeholder shared, "We don’t know what we can do," it was a moment to embrace uncertainty and reframe it as an opportunity. By showcasing what PI stands for and the value we bring through learning experience design, we turned discomfort into a space for discovery, collaboration, and growth. I think it's important to celebrate the power of challenging conversations and see them as opportunities for innovation.

Yijun the DCT Superstar

Massive shout-out to Yijun who was praised by several Program Directors in the most recent DCT VL&T meeting.

After giving a great presentation on the ways in which we are available to support the teams in preparing for development and maintaining their current courses, a number of PDs jumped in to sing Yijun's praises.

Her above and beyond support in assisting the vertical with subject maintenance has set a great example for the collaborative relationships that make PI shine.

Operationalising ideas

Getting new ideas and solutions off the ground isn't easy, especially when it requires adoption from multiple stakeholders and a change to the way things are done. Liz and Jenisha have done a fantastic job finding a solution to a recurring problem in our subject development process - how changes are made to the LMS post-build/sign off. They were meticulous in their approach and as a result, have achieved rapid adoption and implementation. Their process will provide a way forward for others to also get new ideas and/or KPOs off the ground.

This month, Liz shared her experience working with a broken arm and how it gave her pause to reflect on the multitude of accessibility challenges many of our students and staff face, when navigating systems, environments and processes that have been designed only with the 'common denominator' in mind. Liz shared, with a very engaged audience, how AI supported her working and studying while her arm healed. Accessibility and inclusivity are integral to the way we work, teach and learn - I thoroughly recommend you check out the recording.
