Google Classroom is an online forum that virtualizes most classroom activities, from homework assignments to discussions. It is a great way for students to collaborate even from home, and this tool is easily accessible and navigable to most students.

Being able to be live or in person for these socratics are key, as topics move quickly and active communication is crucial. Discussion boards may have a similar effect, but they do not offer the type of connection that Zoom has in the classroom. Also, before our socratics begin, we are able to go over the previous night’s homework/discussion board. She shares her screen with the class so everyone is on the same page, and we can read through the responses together.

This is an efficient way to manage communication of deadlines, as sometimes (understandably) people make mistakes and save the wrong date. Students can follow each other on the site to view fellow peer profiles, and take further inspiration from one another.
