ROLE: Cast (Casey)
Week 1 - Pre-production
Monday: We spent most of today discussing our roles and talking about some inspiration for the film. Aside from a cold read of the script there wasn't really much for me to do today, seeing as I have a cast role as opposed to a crew role. I did, however, start making some character development notes.
Tuesday: I was unable to attend the meeting today due to reasons regarding my mental health, but I was well enough to look over the script a few times and give some more thought into character development.
Wednesday: While I spent the first part of today's meeting working on my PRP deadline (which was submitted today), I also did some more character development work as well as rehearsing some scenes with the rest of the cast and a few crew members (director, DOP etc). I felt like today was the most productive I have been thus far, it massively helped that we've started getting on our feet and going through the scenes properly; not only has this helped more with my character development, it's helped me to gain a better feel for the film on the whole. While it was often stressful due to having to go over things again and again and work out some minor kinks, it was overall a very good, productive day and we were able to move past any issues that arose quickly and effectively.
Thursday: Today we continued to run through some scenes, and we also did some character development exercises with our director. It feels like there wasn't much that happened today, other than a few minor script updates.
Friday: We began with a further tech run of some other scenes, wrapping up all of the tech run/test shots we could do within the New Adelphi space. We ended the day with a meeting, just to discuss what we were doing over the next two weeks of production.

Week 2 - Production 1
Monday: I was called to set to film one scene with another actor at the Robert Powell Theatre. This went relatively well, though it took a while to figure out the technical side of things - we spent a lot of time playing around with equipment, i.e. extending the dolly tracks. We eventually managed to get the scene done, which didn't take too long and was an easy start to the week.
Tuesday: Today was a rehearsal of a scene in which my character has a POV shot walking around her bedroom while she picks things up to take back with her. This was a very demanding shoot technically, due to how difficult it was to figure out how we would be walking with the camera in front of me - while still having it look like the shot was in Casey's point-of-view. After a few hours of playing around, we figured it out ready to shoot the following day.
Wednesday: After figuring out how we would do things yesterday, today we shot the scene in Casey's bedroom. This proved to be just as difficult to film as we'd anticipated, but we actually got through things a lot faster than we thought we were initially going to. It was a challenging shoot, but we somehow managed to even finish with some time to spare. This afternoon, I also shot another scene in the Robert Powell Theatre; this was filmed in the dressing rooms, where our characters are arguing and the camera whips back and forth. This took a long time to shoot and ran massively overrun, having to schedule the video logs shoot for a different day.
Thursday: Today we were filming at Hemsley House, for the greenroom scenes. While we initially ran into some issues with an actor being too unwell to attend, and the floor being particularly annoying and creaky - we got through this shoot with little to no issue. I was actually very happy with myself for how today went, I was mostly very on-task and actually enjoyed the experience.

Week 3 - Production 2
Monday: Once again, we were back in the Robert Powell Theatre. We finally got to film the video log scenes that we were unable to do due to time restrictions on Wednesday, as well as a big group scene on-stage in the theatre. I enjoyed this shoot in particular, it was a good excuse to play around with Casey's character - particularly for the video logs. Everything today went much as planned, and we didn't run into any major issues.
Tuesday: I filmed my final scenes today! This was definitely the most challenging day on a shoot I've ever had, due to the fact that we were filming outdoors in the midst of a storm. My character's clothes aren't particularly warm and for continuity reasons I couldn't wear a coat or a jumper etc., so I was absolutely freezing all day and struggled to even remember my lines for the scene at some points. I was determined to get out of the cold so I powered through, and other than some issues with the sound that were beyond anyone's control (mainly due to rain, background noise) it went fairly well.
Wednesday: n/a
Thursday: n/a

FILM 2: LAST THING I HEARD

ROLE: Production Coordinator
Week 1 - Pre-production
Monday: Today, we mainly did a read-through of the script with the cast and started preliminary planning with the rest of the crew. Due to my uncertainty around my production role, I worked very closely with the producer today as she showed me the ropes of what I was going to be doing. For the most part, I worked on actors' release forms and risk assessments.
Tuesday: After finishing the risk assessments for today and getting the release forms printed out, the assessments were emailed out to the relevant people and the producer taught me how to fill out a call sheet. I only finished the risk assessments towards the end of the day so I didn't have time to do too much work on the call sheets, though I've vowed to get a good chunk of them done tomorrow.
Wednesday: I continued to work on call sheets, as well as running one or two errands for the producer. There wasn't really much else for me to do today other than paperwork.
Thursday: I finished all of the paperwork today, and sent the call sheets over to the producer for her to check and confirm that everything I had done was correct. I ran a few errands once again, but today was pretty much just the same as the other days.

Week 2 - Production 1
Monday: n/a
Tuesday: My first time on set for Last Thing I Heard was today, at a cast member's flat. We were mainly filming in the hallway and the kitchen/living room area, so myself and a few other crew members were confined to a bedroom. I mainly just kept track of time and where they were up to in relation to the shooting schedule, and kept the producer informed of how everything was going.
Wednesday: n/a
Thursday: Today I was called to set to assist with a scene - I held a boom mic up so that it could be (deliberately) seen in shot, as well as recording some of the sound for the scene while I was at it.

Week 3 - Production 2
Monday: Due to personal commitments I was unable to attend today's morning shoot, but I was present for the afternoon shoot at the Old Fire Station. This was an outdoor shoot, which proved an interesting challenge for the producer and I as we got into the nitty gritty details of our filming permissions.
Tuesday: We filmed at an empty flat on Langworthy Road today. The flat was absolutely freezing and I was put in a random room once again, separate from most of the cast and crew to keep me out of the way. I basically had absolutely nothing to do today, even when I asked the director and producer.
Wednesday: Today, we filmed at Liz's Café. I was in charge of organising Ubers for this shoot and coordinating everybody getting there, which I feel I did well. I couldn't help but feel that I wasn't doing anything once again, though I did continually ask what I could do. I ran an errand with the producer, but aside from that (as well as minor things such as checking nothing was left behind at the end of the shoot) I didn't have a lot to do today, either.
Thursday: Thankfully, this was the last time I was ever needed on-set. I was put in a room with other people again so I still had nothing to do. The only useful thing I did all day was run an errand to buy people food from Tesco with the producer, even though I repeatedly asked for something to do.
