         <description><![CDATA[<p>My biggest takeaway from the resources provided was that prioritizing the needs of others can be detrimental to someone in the helping field.  Setting boundaries, creating a work-life balance, and creating self-care routines can not only help with effectively supporting students in my role as a school counselor, but it can also help me as a member of the helping profession. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>To effectively support the students I will serve as a school counselor, I will need to prioritize my self-care needs.  I have evolved as an educator over time and have learned to ask for help and delegate responsibilities when my plate is full.  I am the team lead for my team, and it has been helpful for me to understand that delegating some of those responsibilities to my teammates is ok. Acknowledging when my plate is full and setting boundaries has been a huge help in my self-care journey. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This has been an area that has evolved for me.  I used to think taking time for myself was selfish and that I should always be doing something for my family, students, etc. Over time, I have recognized that creating self-care routines makes me a better wife, mom, and educator.  Reading has been a great self-care tool for me.  I enjoy escaping to a different setting for a while before bed.  I also enjoy being outside with my family and we have recently taken up hiking.  Being at the lake is also another one of our favorites.  I have always been one who needs plenty of sleep and adding in nutritious snacks and meals throughout the day is also a way that I use self-care. I have learned that setting healthy boundaries socially is also a pivotal piece to taking care of myself.  </p>]]></description>
