         <description><![CDATA[<div>George Washinton Carver was born a slave. He was kidnapped with his mom when he was little. He was traded back to his owner for a horse but his mom was never found. George also went to Simson in Indianola here in Iowa. He was also the first to get a monument after a African American all because of Franklin Rooselvelt. On his grave it said he could of had fame and fortune but he declined and gave his knowledge for free and he still had a happy loyal life. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My book taught me that Thomas Edison saved a telegraph operator son's life by pushing him out of the way of a train. James Mackenzie (the telegraph operator) was very greatfull and was going to give young Thomas 100$ but Thomas said he didn't need his money he wanted to learn how to use a telegraph because he liked to invent things. This was a low level book but, I still learned alot  from it.<br> </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>diesMy book was called Thomas Edison. It told facts about his whole entire life. An interesting fact that I have thought was cool was that he only went to school for 3 months when he was seven because the teacher thought that he was asking to many questions. It tells about all of his inventions to. It also told how long it took and why he did his invention. He worked as a telegraph operator for a while. He had a wife and they three children but she at age 29 of a illness. He then marked someone else and had another three children. Soon Thomas got deaf so his wife used telegraph when people talked to him.</div>]]></description>

I learned that he started working at a pharmacy and eventually started his own factory where he made the syrup for the drink. It wasn't always called the Pepsi cola though. At first it was called brads drink after the creator but then they changed it in 1898. Sadly his company was bought out for only 35,000 dollars.</div>]]></description>
