Those making reports need not fear retribution (civil or professional) for making said reports.

Key Definitions:
"Child Abuse:" any physical, emotional, or sexual injury put upon a child intentionally by someone 18 years or older. See Missouri statute 210.110 RSMo
"Elder Abuse:" Any knowing, intentional or careless act done to a senior citizen, or other vulnerable adult, that results in physical, mental, emotional, or financial harm. See Missouri statute 192.2400 RSMo.
"Neglect:" Failure to provide for a child's well-being by the people responsible for their care.  Includes nutrition, shelter, education, medical care, and other aspects of basic well-being.  See Missouri statute 210.110 RSMo
"Human Trafficking" A form of modern day slavery, human trafficking occurs when one "uses force, fraud or coercion to control another person for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or soliciting labor or services against his/her will." Human Trafficking is a form of abuse and can be reported to the age appropriate agencies, as well as the Human Trafficking Hotline - 1-888-373-7888.

• Victim's name, gender, age, general condition, address, and phone.
• Alleged perpetrator's name, address, phone, and relationship to the victim.
• What makes you as a Mandated Reporter suspect abuse/neglect/exploitation is taking place?
• Is the victim in immediate danger?  Is an investigator going to be in danger?
• Reporter's name, contact number, and best time to be reached.
• Reporter's relationship to the victim. 
• Names of other individuals with this information.
• Are you as a mandated reporter willing to be contacted again, if necessary?
