The word 'khua' means 'our community' and the word 'do' refers to 'chase the enemies away' or 'to attack'.

We usually celebrate Khuado festival after the harvest time in October and it can be last three to seven days in a year but the the celebration time can be different from one place to another place depending on the type of crops and vegetables. 

Back in the days, at the festival time our grandparents gave offerings to the good spirit to be healthy and to get more foods next year by killing animals. However, nowadays, during the festival we avoid travelling far ways and gather together in one place and celebrate groups by groups of families.

They celebrate it at April 13 to 16. Long time ago,  the King had it consecrated by Buddha himself and let the people pour the scented water on the image.  So they called it water festival because people are pouring with water. Water festival has the meaning of  cleaning blames and  welcoming Myanmar new year. We celebrate it widely in Nay Pyi Daw which is the capital city of Myanmar and Yangon which is crowded. The Chapchar Kut is a festival especially for Mizo people held on 6 March annually during the period of cutting down the trees and bamboos. It is based on the agricultural cycle of stages mean three different kinds of season that is rainy, winter, summer. It is also called Spring festival and one day long festival. The Chapchar Kut is celebrated with great favor and gaiety by crowd. During the festival, there is a kind of Christian cultural practices like drinking of rice beer. So, we can do as we like to drink such practice but that is not for compulsory. We can say there are three parts in this festival. The first, the very morning time of the day held as an opening ceremony with the honorable persons and the people. Second, at afternoon and evening time, we all are need to participate in the various items such as different kind of competitions like culture boxing, culture dances, volleyball and others which available for anyone involved. Third, at night the concert is enormously held in the Chapchar Kut festival.

Manaw festival is celebrated by Kachin’ people who lived in Northern part of Myanmar. Manaw festival is held on 9th – 10th January every year. Most of the festival celebrated at Myitkyina, the capital city of Kachin State and sometimes it’s held in Putao too.

This festival is a joint festival of New Year. Kachin people celebrated Manaw festival because they mean that it is tribes’ reunion and it's tradition for them. During this festival, all of the people are dance around Manaw poles. Manaw poles are erected and painted colorful. 

This festival is one of the most highly pleased festivals in Myanmar. If you visit Kachin State, Myanmar in January, I highly recommended to attend Manaw festival.

Chin National Day was officially observed for the first time on the 20th of February 1951 at Mindat. Chin National Day is to celebrate being chin ; that day to celebrate our identity, culture and traditions. That day to tell the world who we are and where we come from. Chin National Day falls on the 20th of February. 

Today the Chin people all over the world celebrate this day in their own way. Culture from various tribes were brought together on this special day to promote understanding of identity and most of all unity in diversity.
This day is full of traditional and significant celebrations - including dancing, singing and feasting. One major part of the day is the traditional chin wrestling tournament that takes place over a matter of hours. 
This day allows us to meet with one another we joyfully celebrate our culture. It was celebrated on the moon full day in October. This festival was celebrated to give meal to dead people whom were loved because people wished they were with them. The Chin people believed in goddess at that time. They were not Christian. 
However, most of the Chin people believe in God, Jesus, nowadays. They are Christian, now. Therefor, they celebrate Tho festival only for New Year, not for giving meal to dead people. On that day, New Year, people dance different kinds of culture dances.
