What’s happening to the movement of the thermometer alcohol particles in the cold water? What’s happening to the movement of the thermometer alcohol particles in the hot water? Be sure to put your first and last name. ***For extra credit use this knowledge to explain burns from hot water.

The movement that the thermometer alcohol particles in cold water would be at a slow rate, and moving closer to each other becoming compact this is because of thermal energy. As the alcohol particles start to move down, the thermometer would have a lower temperature reading. In the hot water the particles start to expand and spread out faster; this causes the alcohol raise the temperature to a higher temperature on the thermometer. If hot water is pored on someones skin, the particles/cells would start to spread out and break/tear apart. From the knowledge that I have just explained this tells me and other people that hot water burns can do serious damage to your skin and cells/particles in your body. This is all caused by one burn.

The movement of the thermometer alcohols particles in cold water will contract. The particles are slow and moving closer together due to a low thermal energy. In a thermometer the particles move down giving it a lower temperature reading. The movement of the thermometer when the alcohol particles are heated in hot water will expand. It will expand since particles/molecules when heated will move faster, and spread out as they bump off each other causing it to expand. Due to the alcohol being heated the particles will rise on the thermometer giving it a high temperature reading. When hot water comes in contact with your skin that is on par with a third degree burn the cells particles rip apart as it expands. Like loosening a jar lid it expands the metal. When it comes in contact with the particles/molecules they're torn apart spreading and expanding. The blood rushes to it as fast as it can causing it to swell. This will cause scars.

In the cold water the alcohol particles are moving slowly and close to each other so the alcohol moves down and the thermometer moves dow too reading a low temperature. But in hot water the opposite is happening. The alcohol particles in the hot water expand meaning they spread apart from each other and are moving fast so the thermometer temperature rises higher. If someone touches something that is really hot they can get a third degree burn. At first when you touch something really hot it will take a second for you to feel anything. After that second the hot particles cause your cells to rip or be separated, that is not good. Then all the blood rushes to that spot to try and heal the rip which is what makes it swell. This is what happens if you get a third degree burn.

In the cold water the particles of the alcohol inside the thermometer are slowed down and don't move as much, so the alcohol shrinks down and measure the temperature light that. But, in hot water the particles start to warm up and move around a lot more which causes the alcohol to expand and go up the thermometer. A burn is when your skin cells and tissue is destroyed/ripped apart by heat. For example, if hot water was poured onto your skin the cells and tissue will be severely damaged.

The alcohol in the thermometer will go down and show that there is low temperature in reading. The movement in hot water will expand and move faster making it more spread out. This causes the alcohol in the thermometer to move up therefore giving it a high temperature reading. The hot particles can affect people by getting a third degree burn like Star. This happens when the hot particles come in contact with the particles that make up your skin cells. They then will be torn apart/ripped. This is what makes a third degree burn.

If you would put the hot water on your skin you would get a 3rd degree burn or a 2nd degree burn depending on how hot the water is but if you would put a not so hot water on your skin for a long period of time you would eventually get a 3rd degree burn, but if it super hot about 1 second for you to get 3rd degree burn. In hot water, the alcohol particles will spread apart more and more that makes it go faster that it expands. For extra credit I know that the burns from hot water can cause damage to the skin that tears it apart. This means your skins cells are being torn apart. These burns could be very painful, bad for your health and third degree burn.

In hot water its the complete opposite. The alcohol heats up and move farther apart. The alcohol causes the thermometer to increase.

In cold water, the particles from the alcohol are slowing down as the particles get closer and closer to each other, thus the thermal temperature being colder. In hotter water, the particles from the alcohol are slowly expanding and separating which causes a higher thermal temperature.
