• Prejudice- a negative, usually unjustified, attitude directed toward people simply because they are members of a specific social group. the fox being bullied when joining the scouts because the other animals have a set interpretation of what foxes do.
• Solon asch- believed people behave according to how they perceive the world, not how it really is. When Judy told the press that predators were turning back to savages, zootopia went haywire and were scared when in reality it wasn’t true.
• Compliance- giving in to social pressures in public reposes but don’t change private beliefs. Nick didn’t want to help Judy in her mission to find the otter but gave in because Judy threatened him.
• obedience- preforming an action under the order of an authors figure. Judy complies to the order of her superior by taking the duty of patrol/ticket duty.
• Cult- rigid group of with a charismatic leader who controls its members. Mr. Big is the leader of a cult involving polar bears. Whenever something doesn’t go his way, he demands the polar bears to “ice them”.
• Attribution thinking’s things one points to as the cause of everything, other people’s behavior, and own individual behavior. Situational attributions- it’s caused by something outside the person we observe: Judy realized that Nicks behavior comes from his previous encounters with animals who made fun of him for being a fox, it altered his personality.
• affective component- relates to a person's feelings or emotions in their shaping on attitudes to a person or object. Judy’s parents were fearful that her daughter end considered to join the police force because bunnies typically weren’t biologically built for the work.
• out-group: consists if anyone who does not belong to your group. When Judy released the information that predators are going savage, preys started really segregating from each other.   • Biopsychology- analyzing how other aspects of biology influence the behaviors. 
    • When the drug came out, it was only targeted towards predators, which made people think that predators are biologically aggressive and mean. 
    • Serotonin - mood neurotransmitter.
     Judy became really sad when admitting how bad of a friend she was, this were her neurotransmitters being used. 
    • dopamine- pleasure and reward seeking neurotransmitter. 
    Judy in the first day set a goal if 200 tickets before 12pm because she saw pleasure with the completion.

  • Experiment- cause and effect. Case study- examining or researching one group of people in depth, in this case it’s predators. 
    • In the movie, the sheep was conducting an experiment to show the oubliette and convince them that predators are becoming savages. This includes behavioral perspective. This is a case study and an experiment. 
    •  Unethical- When performing a research on someone, a psychologist should follow the guidelines and ethics to ensure they are correct. 
    The  animals who were missing were not informed, didn’t give them the right to withdraw, and didn’t give them protection from harm; therefore, the experiment was unethical. 
    •  Behavior- things we observe other people doing. 
    After nick receives ice cream payed by Judy, Judy follows them around and actually sees the true behaviors of nick and his “son” when they make a business out of the ice cream.

  • Meditation-  act of giving your attention to only one thing. 
    • when asking where the otter is, yax was in his zone and  meditating. 
    •  Awareness- arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non judgements
    Judy’s parents forgiving Gideon and become more mindful and brought awareness. 
    •  Drugs- supplements that can alter cognitive behavior and status. 
    Emmit woke up from being a vulgar animal because of the drug they used to reverse the drug that altered the signals, negatively, being sent to the brain

  •  Flight response- when in danger, one tries to escape from the situation. 
    • When Gideon was making fun of the bunny, her fight response was activated and she kicked him. The other friends like the sheep hid behind the tree, this was flight response to danger. 
    • Negative reinforcement- occurs when the behavior leads to something desirable ending. 
    The supervisor police officer telling Judy that if she doesn’t find the otter in 48 hours than she would have to resign or get fired. 
    • Punishment- weakens a behavior, or makes it less likely to occur again in the future.
     Giving out parking tickets is a form of punishment. When receiving the ticket the less likely one will park after the time limit.

Can hold memories without conscious effort. the goat when asked about the otter, he mentions very specific details about was he was wearing and also remembered the full number plate of the car, which he most likely wasn’t consciously trying to. The elephant, nagi, didn’t have longterm memory because she didn’t remember anything.
    • Flashbulb memory- a vivid memory of an emotionally significant moment or event. When explaining what the otter did with the driver, this guy was very emotional and then demonstrated a flashbulb memory of what happened that night.
    • Brain teasers- are to challenge the idea of fixed mindset and think outside of the box, which can reduce stress. Solving the case of the otter is basically a brain teaser/puzzle because of how many components were heavily involved and process to actually finding the otter.

    • conditioned response- learned response or response that’s created where no response existed before.  Once having a bad experience with a predator, the animals are more likely to always be afraid, just like Judy’s parents were afraid and gave her fox spray.
    • Close minded- not accepting another truth, only accepting what the first initial thought or impression was. One of the foxes (Gideon) during the play thought bunnies couldn’t be police officers, they weren’t open mind and the bunny says that’s a closed minded ideology
    • Social roles- patterns of behavior that are considered appropriate for a person in a particular context. Judy is a bunny and bunnies typically are nice and not aggressive/strict, which is what a cop needs to have the characteristics to be successful. So typically it wasn’t accepted that a bunny could be a cop because of their nice personalities.
    • Lesion- a brain lesion described damage or destruction to any part of the brain. During the experiment of the predators, there were mri scans of the brains of the animals showing how the brain is affected by the drugs.
    • circadian rhythm- a biological clock that is genetically programmed to regulate our responses within a time period of 24 hours. Ever since Judy got her job as being a police officer, she always wakes up at specific time and sometimes she doesn’t even need an actual clock.
    • withdrawal- Painful physical and psychological symptoms that occur after a drug-dependent person stops using the drug. After emmit came off the drugs, he felt really sleepy and was in pain. He was in the hospital for precaution.
    • faulty heuristics- can introduce errors and lead to bias. Judy became bias to the idea that all predators are bad when trying to solve the problem of otters. Become bias on that all foxes are bad.
    • Confirmation Bias- favoring info that conforms to your existing beliefs. Judy and her parents eventually both believing that foxes are always going to be bad,  that’s why she carried the fox spray.
    • Forgetting- refers to the inability yo retrieve, recall, or recognize info that was stored. Nagi, the elephant, couldn’t remember anything about the otter and where he was or who he was with
