The Beatles Biography

This source is an article written by The Rolling Stone magazine. It talks about the history of the Beatles band. It talks about their tours, their albums and goes on to talk about the life of Paul and Ringo after the breakup of the band and in the early 2000's. The only thing that makes the source seem 'sketchy' is that there is no author and they did not say where they got all the information from. But Rolling Stone is a world famous magazine and usually has accurate articles. This is my #3 source because you learn a lot about the Beatles past, and most of their past relates to the songs they write.

This website talks about this album specifically, explaining the history of this album as well as when they started recording and creating it. It also explains how big the album became. This source is reliable because it comes from the official Beatles website which has all the information you need to know about their albums and their music past, but it does not have a page explaining the creator of the website or the authors of the posts

This source talks about the history of the Beatles, the source talks mostly about the Beatles as a whole group then the past life of each member of the band. This source seems reliable because they put in-text citations so that the reader can go visit more sources for even more information. It tells us the whole biography and about what happened during the Beatles time, how they became famous and what that led them to do.

John Lennon

This article talks about John Lennon's life mostly after he left the Beatles, when he started recording his first single or albums away from the Beatles. The information is exact, dates and names are given and a lot of description. They do not talk about meaning behind his songs or what instrument he played but mostly about what songs he recorded and different decisions he made, like moving to Canada and to the US, and the aftermath of those actions. They also talk a lot about his life with his wife Yoko Ono. This cite seems reliable, no advertisements or anything, the only problem is that there are no citations on where they got all the information from.

Here, There and Everywhere (The 100 best Beatles songs)

This book talks about all the best Beatle songs from #1 'A day in the life' to #100 'Helter Skelter'. It talks about the background of the song, why its #1, in the top 10 or top 100 and what the song is about. They also included the recording process of each song, as well as the instruments and why the audience enjoys this song so much. They do these for every song listed in the book. This is a very good source because it explains the process of songs and why the songs were written. This is the #1 best source for our Beatles unit because when playing and/or singing the songs we can learn what instruments were used and what the song was about. This will give us a clear understanding of everything.

This book is a sort of dictionary of all Beatles information, from songs to websites to magazine articles. The book goes from A to Z showing lots of Beatles material. When showing songs it explains the background, who created it, from what album, who the composer is, the singers and how well the song did over all. It does not always explain all the instruments of why the song was written but if you want to know simple background information on the song this is a great book! Which is why it's my #2 source.
