She displays the traits of loyalty and is a team player with her classmates. When given the choice of who she works with, she always chooses the same group of girls. Ta’Mya looks out for these girls and always tries to help them with school work. One of the girls is an ELL student, and Ta’Mya works with that student to make sure she understands the classwork. The first thing she does every morning when she walks into school is share either something good that has happened since we last saw her or something she is looking forward to today. When obstacles arise, her first move is to think about how to turn it into a challenge that she will grow through. She can easily see the positive in her days. At GEMS, we write Gratitude Grahams weekly. She is very thoughtful with her thank yous and uses them as a way to tell people that they are important to her and that they have enhanced her life. In addition to writing one to someone at school, she regularly brings extras home to give to her family. Meet Caroline!]]> 2017-06-19 13:35:45 UTC https://padlet.com/KellyObarski/Face_of_Strength/wish/176861973 Darterria G. is a picture of FORGIVENESS https://padlet.com/KellyObarski/Face_of_Strength/wish/176862381 The interesting thing about Darterria is that her strengths in the TLC program, lend to her self-trait of honesty.  After doing TLC activities and observing her in groups, she was open to letting things go and moving on.  One of her perspectives on forgiveness was it's ok to say that you’re sorry and not hold grudges.  She has been seen forgiving others and letting things go.  It is an important skill that she is perfecting and it will assist her throughout her life.  Participating in TLC helped her admit her mistakes and in turn learn how to forgive others.
