I forsee some issues with the ELT portion of the proposal. I feel like restricting it to the first 10 minutes will decrease the effectiveness. ELT is already short and on some teams/with some classes, it can take a minute to get the kids in the class and settled. For our team, on two of the days, we have to transition from the trailers to inside. This already takes away time from ELT. Currently in ELT we are using articles weekly. They see the same article for 3 weeks and are doing different things with the article each week. I feel like this process is working well and has a large focus on literacy.

SSR during ELT time might allow students more time to read books of interest during the day.
