Bristle's hatred for humans originates from the base of her parents when they died trying to get food for the family to survive.
They were perhaps shot or hit by an stick(the book does not say what the stick was) but most likely shot because they exploded in blood , fur and bones! It was very depressing but as they say in Arabic

Three ways Pax has changed are he dose not smell like humans,he can now hunt and he can live with out Peter. From the reading I know this because Bristle said that he dose not smell like humans anymore. He knows how to hunt because he goes hunting with Runt and Bristle. Finally he knows how to live with out Peter because he is still alive and is eating.
