A PLN allows a teacher to meet other teachers

that they wouldn't have met if the PLN didn't exist.

This allows for teachers to discover new things that

are happening globally. Someone teaching in Australia

may have a different perspective than someone teaching

in Canada.

One of the most useful things about a PLN is getting ideas!

Having a PLN enables a teacher to get brand new ideas

that perhaps weren't in their mind before. This can be ideas

for a gym activity, English essay topic, or a science experiment!

The limit of a PLN doesn't exist! It brings together everyone

so they are all able to collaborate together!

A PLN is also a social network! I heard that the first year of teaching is the most difficult. A PLN

can have teachers ranging from no experience to 20 years experience! This allows brand new

teachers to discuss with more experienced ones. With a PLN we are able to learn methods that

do and do not work in a classroom setting. It will help new teachers ease into their comfort

zone easier. This can also be the other way around! New teachers such as myself are able to

give the more experienced teachers fresh new ideas!

Meeting people is an excellent way to open up

new doors! Ever dream of teaching abroad?

In a PLN, you meet teachers that live around

the globe, they may be able to tell you about

a new job opportunity, tell you the steps in order

to teach in their country, or recommend you to

someone else! This also works for your own

country as well! As a new teacher I definitely want

to meet new people that could give me potential

job opportunity. I am graduating from University

in two years and want to start working ASAP!
