         <description><![CDATA[<p>2 How does recycling benefit the environment?</p><p>1. Reducing environmental pollution</p><p>Recycling reduces the amount of waste going to landfills, which reduces the release of toxic substances into soil and water, as well as air pollution.</p><p>2. Not protecting natural resources</p><p>Recycling does not reduce the demand for new raw materials, which means that fewer trees are cut down, less water and minerals are consumed.</p><p>4. Not reducing greenhouse gases</p><p>Recycling does not contribute to the reduction of CO2 and other greenhouse gases, which plays an important role in the fight against climate change.</p>]]></description>
