Yes-men style spoof that is of high quality and is believable, for a positive change to the industry. E.g. studio executives step aside for a few years to give their jobs to neuro-diverse individuals or other underrepresented individuals. Or big players (e.g. Netflix, Sky, etc.) direct 60% of their profits to global south film industries.

Cathy Johnson, who originally devised the iLab project, is now at Leeds working on a large project about public service media internationally. This project is doing lots of qualitative research but doesn’t have any film output. Create a film output from that project.

A Workshop FOR the gatekeepers / execs we’ve been discussing today from BFI, Film4, & BBC Film. We would put them in a room together to understand their psyche, how they work, and how they find their talent and projects so we can then understand better their impact in the industry. We suspect we would need to approach this with how they would benefit financially & professionally but we need the workshop to establish what the benefit to them would be to make the changes we need.

Creation of a website that unites & signposts to ALL the resources created by each of our advocacy groups and organisations, and others, which is the ultimate resource or motherboard for producers / production companies / and execs. There should be toolkits, reports, guidelines, basic employment law, databases of cast & crew, trainee contacts, all represented and possibly even a way to advertise roles to avoid informal hiring etc. etc etc. We could then unite behind spreading the word about this resource around the industry with our collective power and contacts.

A film about us - the people who are trying to make a change - why they do it, what’s hard, showing what drives the change makers, try to show a visual of all the groups together - what drives us, what doesn’t work, why we campaign - what the hopes and dreams are

I think it will be inspirational to others and also show a power in unity

Make a short film asking a diverse crowd of young people about why they aspire to work in the film and TV industry, what stories they hope to tell and what kinds of lives they imagine.

I think that will reflect / juxtapose what we know is the reality for most people who try to break in - by reflecting to decision makers how all of our innocent hopes are not being realised . We could add in some stats at the end that show the very low likelihood of those young people actually making it - and the shame on the industry.

No Idea how to get people who matter to watch it though!

Use the £15k to Work together to identify a single action or policy that would help or be of benefit to all of our groups/aims/ advocacy and run an experimental change campaign/ industry ask with the weigh of all our organisations behind it - share the burden but all contribute according to need/ skills
