They were more creatures on the farm and some of them had heard about the Rebellion, but others had not. The farm now had three more horses besides Clover, which were very stupid.

So Squealer informs that Napoleon sent Boxer to the veterinary, however, when the van arrives Benjamin reads its side that Boxer is actually being taken to a knacker so Clover screams to Boxer to escape but he is too weak to escape. 

Squealer lies and tells the other animals that the van was bought by the veterinary and they hadn’t repainted the words on its side yet

This resolution was decided, in view, that Napoleon had accepted a contract negotiated through Whymper, to sell 400 eggs per week. With what they paid they would buy cereals and flours to maintain the farm for a time and improve feeding conditions.
The chickens of course did not like this resolution. As a measure of protest, three black Menorcan hens, from the Balearic Islands, proposed to climb the highest beam and lay the eggs from there they fell and crashed on the ground. In response, Napoleon took their food and if any animal came to give food to the chickens, he would punish them with death.
Nine hens died of hunger from this protest and on the fifth day, the hens returned to their nests and complied with what was stipulated by Napoleon. Back then, Napoleon got along better with the other farmers and traded timber, which Jones had in storage for a long time.
