The theme is shown here when Ponyboy talks about how the Socs are known for jumping Greasers, wreck houses,and throw beer blast for kicks and how Greasers are known for being poor, stealing things, dressing up in blue jeans and t-shirts. Dally got in trouble for slashing some tires.She uses it for setting to because the Socs had some nice cars and clothes because they were rich and spoiled. The Greasers are poor and dont really have nice things.
