People like to think race isn't a thing anymore, people have become color blind. Prison is being used to label people as second-class citizens.
A- Many problems were listed as areas to work on and fix; taxes, housing, banking, transportation, nutrition, civil rights and many more topics..."other" was marked down for criminal justice reform(10). There is believed to be a "triumph over race" with the election of our first black president(11). "The systems of mass incarceration is based on the prison label, not the prison time",(14)
P- Why is race overlooked? Why do people feel shamed by their caste, instead of embracing it? Just because we have a black president, it doesn't mean racism doesn't exist. I believe it is wrong to label people that came out of prison because they already payed for the crime by doing time.
