  • Hurricane Irma continues to last Florida as it moves NorthWest. The storm is slowly losing strength and has been downgraded to a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds of 35mph. (11pm 11sept Florida)

    • Hurricane Jose, which was to follow the path of Irma, has also weakened to a category 2 storm. (Sept11, According to US National Hurricane Centre, Jose now has sustained wind speeds of 105mph.)

    • Millions of people have been evacuated but are left with no power. More than 160,000 people are thought to be waiting out the storm in shelters. 

    • At least 42 people killed due to the storm. 

    • Flooding in Jacksonville exceeded a record set by Hurricane Dora in 1964.
