Poseidon god of the sea, had 2 brothers, zeus god of lighting, and hades god of the underworld. Poseidon's parents were rhea his mother, and cronus god of titans his father. Poseidon wife was Amphitrite, poseidon and Amphitrite had 3 children together, 1 son and 2 daughter,
The son was triton a merman, the 2 girls names were Rhode and Benthesicyme.

 Status Among the Gods
Poseidon is the god of the sea, earthquakes, and storms. He was known as one of the most moody, short-tempered gods. He was also one of the children that was swallowed by Kronos alongside his siblings. The name Poseidon means “Lord of the Earth”

Special Powers and Achievements
Poseidon has control of the whole ocean, some abilities he could do we're sinking ships, control weather,etc. He was also the god of earthquakes and could create and control them, that is how he got his well known title as the “earth-shaker.”

The god then carried her off in his chariot to live with him in the dark Underworld.  She detained the hero Odysseus for many years in the course of his wanderings after the fall of Troy but was eventually commanded by Zeus to release him.

Calypso has a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys, and in Apollodorus  a daughter of Nereus, while the Homeric Calypso is described as a daughter of Atlas.

 She promised Odysseus eternal youth and immortality if he stayed with her.  She kept him on an island for seven years until the gods made her set him free.
