         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artisans-Scarlet&nbsp;</div><div>Notes from (Britannia School) (Book: Ancient Egypt)</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; Artisans created stuff such as tombs, Furniture, Decorative Arts, Sculptures, Clothing, Jewellery, and Food Items. A artisan person skilled in an applied a craftsperson. Artisans on the social pyramid were just above peasants. Artisans were the people that made art that symbolized religion, and other things. Artisans were disrespected. Artisans were very poor. Artisans had very little money. Artisans very often had to create or build their own houses. These ancient Egyptians were highly skilled, but had little social status despite their skills and hard work. All of the art and furniture we see today was created by these hard workers of the ancient world. The most skilled were the stone carvers who created the statues, engravings, and reliefs of the temples, tombs, and monuments. All artisans made at least one thing for a pharaoh. Artisans had to make many things because in everyday life they were always making things for people in a higher class. When they did not make something they were with their family.</div><div><br></div><div>Artisans could be:</div><div>Carpenters (made furniture)</div><div>Metal workers</div><div>Jewelers (made jewelry)</div><div>Painters (portrayed scenes of everyday life)</div><div>Sculptors</div><div>Potters</div><div>Stone carvers</div><div>Weavers (wove fabric and made clothing) (women could be weavers)</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
