Last year, we learned different accents because we had different tasks that needed the character to speak in a specific accent. We also improved our acting skills by doing the activities and they were all really fun to do with group mates. We learned to be a communicator and collaborator because we were able to talk and collaborate in the group works given. Last year, we were given a group work task and we were also given a skit where all group mates had to practice, memorize, record and act each scene to make it look more realistic similar to a movie.

I recently discovered that I can act skillfully for the character I am given, as well as on point, therefore I'll try to improve even more in the future in hopes of becoming an actress.I recently discovered that I could act skillfully for the character I am given, as well as on point, therefore I'll try to improve even more in the future in hopes of becoming an actress.

Tamyra- During the final unit of theater, I learned how to write stories and scripts, as well as conduct research on Greek gods and goddesses and create a character monologue.

If I remember correctly, pantomime is a way of telling a story (typically a comedic one) through only actions, done with usually exaggerated facial expressions to convey emotions, with gestures to show invisible items around the stage (without actual tangible props), and with no vocal sounds. Actors generally wear all black or a black and white striped shirt and paint their faces with white makeup to lessen distractions to and emphasize their facial expressions, since they play a big part of a pantomime.

I think some skills that let one be able to pantomime effectively are nonverbal communication and creativity — the former to convey emotion through facial expressions and body language, the latter to come up with how to show objects and ideas to the audience through only gestures.

Right now, with what I know of pantomime, to perform one I would first plan my storyline and how I would show each emotion, idea, and prop that will be in my performance. I would play around and think up different ways to do each part and settle on the one that I believe conveys what I want to say the most effectively and accurately. I'd then keep on practicing my performance so I can be more familiar with it and make improvements and changes along the way if I feel the need to, until the time of my final performance.

For me, it is essential to have a lot of facial expressions and gestures since, because this is nonverbal communication, people should grasp what they are attempting to communicate via actions rather than words. Another key quality, in my opinion, is confidence, since people should be confident in their ability to depict a character without speaking. It also takes a lot of bravery to do this since it is a quiet manner of conveying a tale and people must look at the actor/actress to comprehend the message.
