         <description><![CDATA[<div>understand the parts and path of vision<br>Aqueous Humor- liquid in eye<br>cornea-transparent protector<br>pupil- adjustable opening in the center of the iris where light continues to enter<br>iris-colored part of the eye protection<br>lens- transparent part of the eye inside the pupil that focuses light onto the retina (upside down0 by changing the curvature<br>accommodation- lens shape changes according to distance<br>retina- inner lining on the back of the eyeball that contains receptors of color<br>&nbsp; -layer 1: Rods(b/w) and cones (color)<br>&nbsp;-layer 2: Bipolar cells: specialized neurons connect to rods and cones&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;-layer 3: Optic nerve&nbsp;<br>blindsight- ability to respond to something not consciously perceive<br>blindspot- point where optic nerve leaves the eye, no vision receptors&nbsp;<br>review- line of central focus<br>optic nerve- carries to thalamus then occipital lobe<br>optic chiasm- spot where nerves cross each other<br>lateral geniculate-the area in the thalamus that interprets images<br>2 kinds of ganglion cells magnocellular cells<br>transduction- light passies through retna&nbsp;layers</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Learn color theories and visual cues<br>transduction- signals are formed into neural impulses<br>parallel processing: processing of several aspects of a problem stimulus&nbsp;<br>-shape , depth<br>neurons in the visual cortex<br>wavelengths - distance from one peak to another<br>high=long low=short and more<br>large amplitude- TALL wavelengths bright colors loud sounds<br>small- short, dull colors, soft sounds<br>Color Theories<br>-Young- Helmholtz trichromatic theory<br>&nbsp;each cone is sensitive to 3 colors red green blue<br>combined colors<br>Afterimage- when you stare at one or two colors cones become saturated then when you look at white there will be color slightly<br>colorblindness- partial or total inability to see hues monochrome and dichromates<br>youngs theory does not explain afterimage or colorblindness<br>individual cones- trichromatic theory<br>opponent layer: other layers of retina<br>surrounding context- an item is viewed with other colors then the color of the object changes</div>]]></description>
