Ronald Durkin

At the beginning of the story, Ronald was the school bully. He would pick on Molly Lou Melon by mocking her and making fun of the things that make her different such as her teeth, voice and height. After a while, Ronald realises that his bullying wasn't effecting Molly as she remained confident and kind. This kind of confidence inspired Ronald, as it rubbed off on him and he began to respect and admire Molly.

Ronald learned that putting other people down and bullying them for the things that make them different isn't right. Instead, he learns to embrace his and others differences and encourages Molly's confidence and individuality.

In order to make things right with Molly, he apologizes and treats her with respect and kindness. He gives her a penny so she can add it to the pennies she would stack on her teeth.

I would be friends with Ronald now that he treats others who are different with kindness by embracing and admiring their differences. It's important to remember to be kind to everyone no matter how different they are from you. It's also okay to forgive others for making mistakes after they have apologized and realizing that we are all humans and make mistakes sometimes, as long as we learn from them and make it right.

Sally Waterhouse

Sally is a very tall girl with very long limbs. Sally has blonde hair and green eyes with hair that touches the back of her knees. She used to be really insecure about her height and her long limbs, however in the 7th grade she began playing volleyball. In the sport she found that there were a lot of other girls who also were really tall with really long limbs. She began to embrace her insecurities as she realized that she could use them to her advantage in the sport! As she continued playing volleyball, her confidence only grew and with that she became more outgoing and a great teammate and friend to those around her. Sally learned that no matter how tall or short someone is, what really is important is embracing your insecurities and realizing that everyone's differences can be used to do good things.

I would be friends with Sally, as she is a good teammate and she can help me reach things on the top shelf as I am someone who is really short! :)
