The objective of this project is to be aware and analize how New Zealand has dealt with Covid-19.

It is important to know what other countries have done with this situation, because this virus seems to not be ending anytime soon, so it is something we must learn how to live with. This project may be a guide to us and what mesaures take as citizens and future professors.
New Zealand is in fact, an Island and has a population of almost 5 millions people. Actually, there are more sheep than humans in the country.
In this project we analized the effect that Covid-19 have had in New Zealand's economy, education and health system, and how they have delt with it.

On 23 March 2020, New Zealand committed to an elimination strategy in response to the coronavirus disease pandemic.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that on 26 March, New Zealand would commence an intense lockdown of the country (the highest level of a four‐level response framework).

An elimination strategy requires highly functioning public health infrastructure. Similar to many other countries, NZ has supplemented traditional approaches with newer tools, such as the use of digital technology to speed up contact tracing.

Additional surveillance approaches can be used to provide increased assurance of elimination. However, even in the presence of a highly sophisticated surveillance system, transmission will continue if isolation and quarantine adherence is suboptimal.

New Zealand is for sure, one of the countries that have better-faced Covid-19. They have had a low amount of infected people in many months. and their government has shown a real concern for their citizens.

As Chileans, we are really impressed with how New Zealand has prepared and faced Covid-19. Their government and citizens have really given it the importance it deserves. The people have been really obedient. They took the needed measures at the right time. On the other hand, Chile took to long to start organizing what to do and how to face the virus, and the people have not been conscious about quarantine and social distancing plus the measures that the Chilean government has implemented are not that strong either in comparison to New Zealand, they went into lockdown the moment people started to get infected and here in Chile the lockdown started like a month after the first infections and by that time the disease had already spread to a point of no return.
