HItler authorized an invasion on Poland September 1, 1939 following his rise to power in 1933. 

(Imperial) JAPAN: In September 1940, Japan made an agreement called the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy where they agreed that if anyone of them got attacked they would assist each other.

(Fascist) ITALY: Similar to Japan, Italy joined the war because of the Tripartite Pact. But they were predetermined to be in another war because wvn before the pact Germany's invasion of Poland initiated the European War and they Joined alongside Germany and Japan in WW2 June 10, 1940.

UK: Britain did not want to get involved in the brutal war but they promised to defend Belgium under the Treaty of London of 1839. 

FRANCE: They joined the war in a feeble attempt to ease Nazi aggression, but after the invasion of Poland France declared war on Germany. The war against Germany did not last. (One month and twelve days).
