A seizure disorder where nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing seizures<br><br>Causes- Head trauma or strokes<br><br>Symptoms- Seizures, anxiety and depression, pain and muscle fatigue<br><br>Most common age systems 1st appear- No set age<br><br>Treatment- Medication and dietary change<br><br>Prognosis- If treated, relatively easy to live with, can have sever/fatal head trauma during seizure<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

A serious disease that affects your nervous system, aka lock-jaw<br><br>Causes- A bacterial toxin<br><br>Symptoms- Muscle contractions, can interfere with ability to breathe<br><br>Most common age systems 1st appear- No set age, whenever you come in contact with a contaminated object<br><br>Treatment- Preventable by a vaccine, antibiotics<br><br>Prognosis- Can lead to death if not treated, if treated you'll be good in a short amount of time<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

A learning disorder characterized by difficulty reading<br><br>Causes- Hereditary factors<br><br>Symptoms- Late to speak and/or learn how to read, takes a while to learn new words<br><br>Most common age systems 1st appear- 5 or 6<br><br>Treatment- Therapy (speech, occupational therapy, etc.)<br><br>Prognosis- Always have it but it can get better and you can learn to work with it and not let it effect your life<br><br></div>]]></description>

A disorder with depressive low feelings and really high feelings<br><br>Causes- A hormonal imbalance or environmental factors (abuse, mental stress, traumatic event)<br><br>Symptoms- High episodes (high energy, reduced need for sleep, loss of touch to reality) and low episodes (low energy and low motivation, loss of interest in daily activities, suicidal thoughts)<br><br>Most common age systems 1st appear- Around 22<br><br>Treatment- Therapy, medications, hospitalization<br><br>Prognosis- No cure, just ways to regulate mood and try to prevent relapses<br><br></div>]]></description>

It's an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks<br><br>Causes- Plaques and tangles in brain, block neural pathways<br><br>Symptoms- forgetful, forget how to carry out normal life functions<br><br>Most common age systems 1st appear- Mid 60s<br><br>Treatment- No cure but medications and in-patient care<br><br>Prognosis- Progressively gets worse and is eventually fatal<br><br></div>]]></description>
