Strength: This paper included fair amount of articles, which draw larger sample size over the world.

Limitation: Due to larger sample size over different studies, there may be inconsistent in data collection process and language use. Different countries have different health care systems, which may lead to different stressors. This is a variable that was not taking into consideration.

Robert Sookoo

In essence it confirms higher suicide rates but suggests little is know about specific factors for a number of reasons though it suggests some at a very broad level which begs the question about the need for follow on research at some stage if this is a consistent view in the literature. i.e. if we cannot sufficiently isolate specific factors and there is no consensus what these are we must ask/investigate what are the specific set of healthcare worker risk factors. How are they different from the rest of the non healthcare workforce? Then what can be done about it. We could also test (in the future) the theory of whether there are specific factors or does the job exacerbate generic factors. The RQ is generating many other RQs in my head.

1. The study by (Dutheil et al., 2019) supports the findings that females are more at risk of suicide than males, supporting the Olfson study 2023 of US female healthcare workers. The advantage of the meta-analysis study is that researchers go through several research studies assessing the trends in several pieces of research to give accurate evidence.
