Before Tiger Woods started losing endorsement deals (once the story came out that he cheated on his wife) he was the face of Nike. Bridging the gap between Michael Jordan and LeBron James, Nike needed someone recognizable across the globe and Tiger was a perfect fit. It was an even bigger deal than LeBron’s (since Tiger could advertise while playing) for five years and $100 million. Golf is different than basketball since you can see the Nike logo front and center on every shirt. Tiger wears Nike clothes, hats, shoes and even uses their clubs during tournaments. While Tiger’s current endorsement with Nike is not as large as this one was, it’s still a massive deal that has him set for life. Woods is not the player he used to be, but he is still pulling in cash.
