Last time I went to a wedding I was only 5 so I have a bit of a brisk memory. I only been to a Indian wedding. First thing first we would all meet up and have a traditional Hanna on our hands. The bride would get Hanna or Mandi (in my language) all over there hands. Then the couples would each get it the man would get there wives name on there hand and then the wives would get there husbands name on there hand. For the people that aren’t married you would just get designs on your hand. Next day we would have the actual wedding but nothing like the bride wearing a white dress and they walk down the isle but more of the bride wears a colour dress and we would gather around the pooja ( traditional circle) and family members would say a few words. Then they would kiss. After we would all dance and have dinner. A few more days of celebration and laughter and I forgot about that. But weddings are so beautiful and elegant. People are expected to wear a casual shirt to attend the wedding and the wedding always has lots of food for the people attending to eat. At the end of the wedding their parents have to sign that they can marry each other and once that is done the people that has attended the wedding and the bride and groom goes to the boy house to celebrate their wedding and the people who are not getting married just get to know each other with the other family.This wedding was the smallest I have been to and also you get a big cake to eat before their parents sign the agreement. Weddings are really nice and romantic. There is the wedding and then the reception after the wedding with only the invited. I have been a flower girl twice before and you get to get ready with the brides maids and the bride and you get pampered then you go ina special car to get to the wedding then you get ready to walk the isle. I have only been to an Indian wedding for my Aunty. The couple have to walk in a circle around fire 7 or 9 times before they are officially married. I was the flower girl, and I got to wear a pretty dress and got my hair professionally styled. I had a pretty basket which had different coloured petals in it. I threw the petals in front of the bride who was walking behind me with her two dogs. My mum was a bridesmaid, along with one of her friends, who walked in front of me. When we reached the front of all the guests, the bridesmaids and I stood to the side while the bride walked down the aisle with her father. Her father sat down and the groom (who was already in front of the guests) greeted her. The celebrant spoke about vows and other boring stuff, and I remember annoying my mum while we waited. Then the bride and groom said their vows and they both said “I do.” Then, they kissed, and the photographer took heaps of photos. We walked back down the aisle and the guests, bride, groom, bridesmaids, and I all headed to Kings Cliff Bowls Club.  The bride, groom, bridesmaids, and I rode in a Mustang Convertible to the Bowls Club. Everyone did some lawn bowling and had dinner.

My auntie's from my dad's side and uncle from my mom's. Both of the weddings were approximately eight hours long, and include many different ceremonies. But the wedding as a whole can be 3-7 days 
long. There is many events such as: the ring ceremony, "Mehendi" which is when the bride gets puts henna on her hands and feet. Then there is the "Cocktail" party which is where you just have a dance, grab a few drinks and celebrate with your relatives, and get some pretty good food. The actual "Wedding" which is booked in a massive extravagant hall. Filled with beautiful decorations and many people in there best Sarees ( Which is traditional attire worn by women) and men sometimes where suits or kurtas ( Traditional attire for men). The bride get this decorated platform, which they get pictures with family and friends. They are actually standing there till the wedding ceremony starts. Soon after, the groom comes in a beautifully decorated car and everyone starts dancing (Bharat). Some weddings start at 7:30pm and Finnish around 3:00 am in the morning. The bride and groom are constantly moving here and there for these rituals. I nearly fell asleep. Finally when the last ceremony finnishes, everyone throws flowers. That wedding  went for about three days overall. Unlike Australian weddings the bride and groom don’t kiss front of every one in Indian weddings. Instead they kiss in a room alone the day after. You don’t bring flowers up for the groom or bride but the closely related people go up with the bride and groom to get a photo when they give each other a ring. The food is the most tasty food I have ever ate before. The cake is amazing and there are lots and lots of fruits and other tasty Indian sweet. There are a lot of people who come to the weddings the that I go to. It is very loud and I useally  know everyone there. One of the recent weddings I went to was in the Christmas holidays last year, when my family went to India for one of my unlce's wedding. Unlike Australian weddings, Indian weddings are colourful and everyone gets to dress up in pretty clothes. The wedding celebrations went on for three days and by the end of it we were all very tired. The proper wedding ceremony was held at a big hall and the bride and bridegroom sat on fancy chairs on the stage. After the traditional rituals, everyone went up to have photos, one family at a time. After we had photos we got to have delicious food. Soon after the priest(pundit in Indian) would light the holy fire and the wedding vows would be said. The Indian wedding vows are alot  different and longer than the English ones. On day three we went to a big field and there was a stage with a big throne which the bride and groom sat on. We started of with each family taking a photo with the bride and groom. Then the bride and groom stepped into a tower and the roof lifted and the bride and groom were elevated to the top. Soon after that everyone got to ate while listening to long speeches. A long time later the bride and groom walked around a fire but I wasn’t there for the whole think beck was sleeping in my aunts lap. I can’t remember what else we did but I do know I was very exhausted.
