In my classroom I will make sure that the students trust in me, so that they can successfully complete assigned tasks. Building trust will be done through building positive relationships with students and their guardians to help them when their struggling, and to reward individual achievements in class and extra curricular activities.

As a teacher I will ensure that each student is given the help he or she needs to understand every lesson that I teach throughout the duration of the school year. This will be a major emphasis of mine throughout my teaching career, for every student is unique, and learns in their own way. My goal as a teacher will be to understand how each student in my class learns, and to apply teaching methods that would work best for every student in all my classes.

As a high school history teacher my goal is to make the content of the class relatable to students in the 21st century. One way I will make this a reality is by having my students find connections between historical figures and themselves, for instance, asking students to compare and contrast elements of their lives with the lives of people that lived during the First World War. I believe that doing this will help students better understand historical concepts, for they are able to connect events from the past to their own lives.
