In this useful module we have learned a lot about the teaching methods and learning activities, also we have learned so much assessment tools, also we have learned that new educations require new and modern methods of teaching and learning, and they require new tools of assessments.

If we explain the word pedagogy, we can say that pedagogy is the course or the idea to let the learners understand the approach of their subjects, including the new skills and academic disciplines.

Also, pedagogy can show us that knowledge and information can be exchanged in an educational context.

Although in this module we have learned that environment has an important role in teaching and learning of the new educations.

Teaching can be offline in the class which we should utilize the physical and virtual platforms, or it can be online by which we can create a healthy and safe online learning environment.

Also, the student’s attendance is an important point, by which creating the safe and healthy environment has a great role for their attendances, which we know that the facial recognition is important, and it monitors the good understanding point in the class for educators and learners.

Also, in this module we learned the 21^st century skills which maintain three skills, which are.

 1. Learning skills the (4cs) which means (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication).

2. literacy skills; the (IMT)which means (information literacy, media literacy and technology literacy). 

3. life skills; the (FLIPS) which means (flexibility, leadership initiative, productivity and social skills).

As I have learned that these skills have important roles in teaching process also teachers should follow the learning pyramid in their skills.

Creative innovative pedagogy include creativity in teaching, which it lets the students focus on learning agency, student’s agency and engagements and students’ contributions.

Also, it enhances the creative teaching and learning which it helps the learners to experience new things and acquire them to have ownership and control, also it gives them opportunity to be innovative and creative. 

We have also learned about new methods of learning by learning by doing, and in our presentations, we learned about many skills which helped us to learn about new theories and information. 

The presentation titles were about (photographs, fieldtrip, role-play, class projects, exchange students, timelines).

So, at the end of this lecture, we can say we have learned that teaching requires a good educator and good environments for the learners to learn their knowledge and understand their skills, have self-confidence and opportunity to work in their skills with love and patience, and a good teacher can make a best learner.
Theme 2/ learning environments.

How to create a good learning environment for our learners?

In this useful and more knowledgeable environment I have learned that in order to create a good environment for your learners you should give your them a sense of ownership and confidence which is one of the ways to encourage your students to feel proud of themselves and their class, also displaying their work is one of the good strategies to help them take ride in class and respect the space they occupy. 

I have also learned that a good learning environment refers to the diverse physical locations, contexts and cultures in which the students learn.

Our aim should be for creating a total environment that optimize the ability of the students to learn.

I have learned that learning needs a good and safe environment, and that healthy environment has a great role in teaching and learning processes, also it helps the teachers and the students to be able to manage classroom settings and establish cooperative learning and working environment, which it builds trusts and confidences which used to motivate the learners a lot.

As long as I have learned that PBL or (project-based learning) has important role by which we should involve the students with the interaction of learning materials, which they should relate it with their everyday activities and enhance them with their knowledge and understandings. 

Also project based learning can be done in closed or open environment by showing them videos or listing to the audios or making experiments in their classes. 

At the begging we should facilitate the learners through many activities for kinesthetic learners, role-paly might be the key to help them connect with the lessons, and some students enjoy acting out important events in history, for instance also tapping into their interests and abilities are important. 

We have also learned that monitoring the progress is important and we can monitor the class through different techniques, in order to motivate them through;

1.       Involving the learners in the class activities. 

2.       Talk about the individual needs.

3.       Ask about their interests and curiosities. 

4.       Establish good relationships 

5.       Let them sense the successes and achievements and find their goal settings. 

Learning is more important than teaching because teaching can be done though many techniques and ways but for the learners it is not always easy to focus on the subjects that the many not have any interest for, so that teachers should depend on many different ways to teach their learners it must include different students with different interests, learning should not be only in the class while the teacher stands and learners sit, or we can say learning should not be with active teachers and passive students , both of them must be active and perform many new and modern activities, also it can help influence student learning by encouraging student engagement, providing positive and constructive feedback that supports exploration, community among peers, and diversity. Studies have shown that thriving learning environments help increase student focus and retention of information. Also, by these technique students continue to grow and evolve as learners, in the environments in which they learn. So, we can say Learning environments have changed over time and can continue to expand to meet student needs, allowing teachers to continually optimize their learning environment to help students meet their educational goals.
Theme 3/assessment tools

We have also learned that assessment tools can be used for assessing and developing one's own learning. It helps the students to describe their own experience, which supports their personal growth and helps them to identify weaknesses and strengths related to learning. These tools can support their self-direction and assessment. It promotes reflection on how and what they have learned.

I understood that assessment tool is a technique or method of evaluating information to determine how much a learner knows and whether this knowledge aligns with the bigger picture of a theory or framework, assessment methods can differ based on context and purpose. For example, personality tests use your responses to discover character traits, and financial assessments measure how much you know about concepts like saving and investments. Regardless of the context, all assessment tools depend on a set of well-thought-out questions to gather insights and arrive at informed conclusions by interpreting these insights.

In this module we learned that assessment tools aid in assessing and evaluating student learning and can provide different options to assess students beyond the traditional exam. There are so many tools to assess students, including grading (rubrics, Canvas Assignments, plagiarism detection, self-assessment, and peer assessment, surveys, and classroom polling, quizzes, learning diary, reports, exams, and so many other assessment tools that can be done by the teachers and organizations together.

We learned that the characters of these tools should depend three points which are;

1.       Reliability

2.       Validity

3.       Equitable

I have also learned so many advantages of assessment tools for the educators and learners which include;

1.       Assessment tools help educators evaluate students’ knowledge and make informed decisions that improve their learning experience. 

2.       Assessment tools help participants measure their progress towards specific outcomes and modify their behavior to meet those goals.

3.       They provide an opportunity for valuable feedback that improves the lives of the participants. 

4.       An assessment tool is a lens for understanding learning, identifying invisible barriers, and helping educators to improve their approach to evaluation. 

5.       They clarify the expectations for participants in different contexts.

 

Also, we learned that there can be two types of these tools include offline assessments which are these tools that we talked about above and can be done in the class on the paper or orally, which are useful and has disadvantages at the same time, and the second way can be online tools which can be done outside the class or inside but can be done through using technologies and new research support the online tools as much as the offline ones.

I have also learned that there are some disadvantages of these tools for both the educators and the learners which may include. 

1.       they may have negative effect on student motivation, particularly for students performing below grade level. 

2.       Careless implementation of assessments may have negative consequences, especially when the needs of special education students are not considered.

3.        Using only a written formal assessment does not provide an overall picture of student achievement. 

4.       Students that perform better with oral and visual skills or who display superior creativity are at a disadvantage. 

5.       Basing teacher effectiveness on standardized test scores may encourage teachers to narrow the curriculum to teach to the test. While it is unclear whether alternative assessments are effective, what is clear is that this debate will not be going away any time soon.

6.       Taking too much time from teacher’s time to prepare the tools and to grade them.

 

At the end we can say that we have learned so many things from the teachers and other colleges from this useful module about teaching and learning techniques and the assessment tools.
