The leader of the LRA (Lords Resistance Army), Joseph Kony, took thousands of children as soldiers and slaves in the night.
Children were considered good soldiers as they could be brainwashed easily and had no power to fight back on their own.
This took place in Uganda were there were gun fights between the LRA which wanted a theocracy and the government. After being driven out of Uganda, they continued in Sudan (now South Sudan) and then Central African Republic
