We took it as our role as parents (not the school or Church) to assist Paul And Toby to grow godly attitudes and behaviours.
We encouraged as far as possible for them to have their friends in our home rather than theirs.
We attempted to find out from Paul and Toby the things discussed at school – and appropriately debrief and where necessary put a Godly perspective
As Paul and Toby got older we discussed the talks that they heard at the meeting to ascertain what they had heard and understood and provide clarity where necessary.

My parents never spoke a harsh word about the church or people. I subsequently grew up with only love and respect for my oversight. I was in my early 20s before I realised they weren't perfect but I also new by that stage that I wasn't either.

It was the day to day relationship my dad had with God - an absolute esteem for a higher power, motivating our unrelenting church attendance, which was the strongest testimony of a 'sure thing' to rely on. It held me captive through childhood, felt like the only stable thing through adolescence, and drove me straight into my creator's arms when it came time for me to make my own choice for God. I learned the value of - and how to have a relationship with - God via the daily demonstration of my own dad.

From when our family came to the Lord when I was 5 years of age we attended everything - this showed me the value my parents placed on what they had found (the truth) & who they had found (the Saints).
A regular dialogue in our home... Mum: 'Have you had some prayer today?' Me: 'Nooooooooo' My mother would gently (but consistently) remind me to do what I knew I needed to do - until I actually did it! I learnt that prayer changes things & it changes me.
My mother would bring a verse into daily conversation regularly, not volumes, just exactly the right verse... faith came by hearing the Word & I experienced its relevant wisdom for my life.
I saw faith in action in their service within the fellowship & reaching out to others.

My Dad exhibited great faith! He believed the word of God offered healing and a relationship with God in a time where those around him didn't . He actively pursued a relationship with God and taught me to walk by faith and not by sight.

I just remember growing up with God part of our daily life. Having grace at dinner time, getting to every meeting (even) if us kids just went to bed, and Sunday school prayer meetings. I snuck into one for the seniors and received very quietly. I guess I just had an expectation that I'd gotten from my parent's faith.
