The factors that are important for me and for my students are the usability, privacy and intellectual property, accessibility, fun factor.
My students (4-6 aged) prefer the interractive tools and they are enthusiastic for their scores! We use digital tools for colloborative painting and digital tools to share their output with their parents and relatives. It's so fantastic when grandparents tell us how nice is to see children's work in our schoolblog.

When I choose a tool to use in or out of the classroom, it depends on the activity is aimed at. Searching information (Symbaloo), displaying information (Canva, Genially, Piktochart), checking knowledge (genially, slido), sharing opinions and thoughts (mentimeter, slido, answergarden...)
My students like thise ones that make their task easier and fun.
and the best for them are the online meetings like Zoom or Google Meet.

The tools I use are always being dependent on the activity or the specific topic I have to teach. In any case, they must be attractive, amusing and challenging. They must offer more than one way of communication and interaction, they must be easily accessible to both students and teachers, easy to be used by the participants, without interruptions during its function, to encourage collaboration and creativity. Generally, students prefer tools that have “strong sense” of playing or gaming. They enjoy communicating with their peers for choosing the right answer in online quizzes that demand no pencil, no paper, no writing! They are also “cutely” anxious about their scores during the e-assessment and the badges they are going to receive for their success.
