Technology made people’s lives easier. The dawn of technology allowed people to do things we are incapable of i.e. predicting the course of weather. Technology is very convenient in many aspects of our lives, take education for instance people can take online classes and tutorials and the internet can provide information needed ASAP. Technology also aids in the medical practice to have a better result and diagnosis that will help treat illnesses. Technology has indeed made lives easier but not better. We devote too much time with our mobiles that we fail to invest time with the people around us.

Sherry Turkle stated that “We expect more from technology and less from ourselves.” which is indeed correct. Life as we get it is hard and we tend to lean to an easier resolve. The problem to a quicker solution is the process of it, the essence of it is not well thought out that it encompasses consequences which we neglect because we’d rather move on from our struggles. People resort to texting and online activities to express their emotion and others talk to people to convey what they feel and to me both are the same. A process to be exact, why don’t we question why people would rather talk to a machine rather than to an actual person? The answer is “no one is listening”, when we decide to be vulnerable to people, sometimes we receive feedbacks and responses wrapped in pretense and maybe that is the reason as to why people would choose to express themselves in the presence of technology. Maybe we should indeed learn to portray ourselves similar to our virtual lives in our actual lives where we can edit, delete, and retouch. We EDIT by thinking before relaying a thought, DELETE by apologizing if we have made a mistake, and RETOUCH by creating a better resolve that benefits you and those around you.

Communication is the key and to attain a good communication we must lend not just our ears but also our thoughts and emotions.
