Assalamualaikum and greetings to Dr. Surendran and my dear classmates.

My name is Nur Afrina Binti Mohamad Hanafi. You can call me Rina. I come from Kota Bharu, Kelantan. It is situated in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia. My first degree is in the field of business mathematics at UUM. Currently, I’m pursuing a full-time master’s degree in education, specialising in ELT (English Language Teaching). Before this, I had 1 year of experience as a temporary teacher, teaching mathematics and English subjects in one of the government primary schools in Kelantan. Even though English is not my field of study during my degree, the schools entrust me to teach English to year 3 students. During this 1-year experience as a temporary teacher, I realized that I needed to gain more knowledge in the education field and improve my way of teaching English to the students. That is why I chose a Master of Education in ELT. For this course, even though I’m late in registering, I think I’m not late because there is a lot of knowledge and trending in Web 2.0 that I’m still not exploring for the benefit of the classroom.

For instance, through social media, we can know recent news and we also can buy things online. Nonetheless, I am careful about the information I share on social media and I am critical of the information I see there. This is because there is a lot of scammers out there that trying to get our information for their own purpose.

Apart from that, I also can access, analyze, evaluate, and create media in a variety of forms. People tend to multimedia to seek different perspectives and view points nowadays including me. And I am not aware of security and digital privacy sometimes, but I do know various ways to access different kinds of medias and latest trend technologies as well. Since Media literacy is not only the ability to access the media, but also need to understand and critically evaluate the media content, then people can produce effective communications or messages in between.

To this question my answer is yes. My understanding of media literacy is to have one’s own judgment on information from various media, to be able to correctly understand, evaluate, and analyse the true meaning of the information conveyed by the media. I believe I am a media literate person because I refer to multiple sources of information, sift through relatively objective news stories or articles, check for authenticity and objectivity before sharing them, and critically analyse the content in social media posts. Nonetheless, there are still areas where I need to improve, such as staying updated. The media is constantly updating nowadays and more platforms worth researching are emerging, so I should broaden my horizons to keep up with the times.

no. I feel like I only understand the media, but I can’t say I’m proficient in it. First, through studying these two classes, I feel that I have a simple understanding of media. First of all, in the last class, I learned about the three media media. The first is that media literacy is primarily concerned with people understanding media. The second is that information literacy is mainly about using information to solve problems. The third one is digital literacy using electronic tools etc. Then today's lesson taught us that media is mainly used for communication. The mode of communication and the medium used. However, for the media, it is huge, 1. For me now, I am just standing on the outermost side of the media tool. For example, using digital media tools, I can only use simple media tools to create courseware content, which is out of reach for mastery. 2. The scope of media is too large. TV, newspapers, the Internet, etc. all belong to the scope of media, but the media I come into contact with is only a small range of software content, such as communication software, video software, etc. 3.

I think I am a media savvy person, because in today's society, social media is everywhere, social media makes the news easier to spread, so that people can immediately learn about important events. This can improve the accessibility and speed of news. But the credibility of news on social media is spotty, sometimes with false information, rumors or misleading reports. Therefore, we need to be careful about the news on social media and verify the source of information. I also use social media to shop, buy specialties from different countries and try different customs and customs. Besides, I can't keep in touch with my family without social media, and I watch TV series or play games through social media to relax myself

The SAMR Model is important because it is a framework that educators can use to assess how well they use technology into their lessons. The SAMR model is not intended to reduce the teacher's role as an active mediator. Instead, they take on the role of a facilitator, concentrating on how to use the model as a tool for developing and implementing more effective learning activities in the classroom. It is equally important to keep in mind that technology needs to be used in a way that benefits the class. SAMR provides valuable information regarding the integration of technology to foster interaction among students. As a result, it promotes involvement and personnel interconnection. Students who use technology are empowered to take charge of their education and are have the opportunity to use creative digital platforms to convey what they have learned about specific subjects. SAMR Model makes it possible to apply and use technology in the classroom in an efficient manner. Teachers need to employ technological frameworks and models because they facilitate a deeper comprehension of pedagogy. With SAMR, you may use your lesson planning as your guide to help you consider how technology will fit into your courses. In conclusion, the SAMR paradigm facilitates the understanding and use of technology integration.

The SAMR model is designed to guide teachers to integrate technology into the classroom. It is an innovative model for selecting, applying and evaluating technology education applications. It is very important in the integration of technology in teaching and learning. It can help teachers evaluate the effectiveness of technology in teaching based on the degree of change and apply appropriate technology to teaching based on their own understanding.

The SAMR model consists of four steps: Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. At the substitution level, technology can be used to replace traditional teaching methods, such as using digital tools instead of traditional text-based books. At the Augmentation level, technology can be used to enhance traditional teaching methods, such as using online resources to supplement classroom instruction. At the modification level, technology can be used to modify traditional teaching methods, such as using interactive software to change the form of teaching and learning. At the redefinition level, technology can be used to create tasks that were previously unimaginable, such as using virtual reality technology to simulate real-world situations.

Through the application of the SAMR model, teachers can better understand the integration and application of technology, thereby improving teaching effects and students' learning experience. At the same time, the SAMR model can also help teachers evaluate the degree of technological change and select appropriate technologies for integration according to different teaching goals and course needs.

The SAMR Model is a framework that helps educators to understand and evaluate the integration of technology into teaching and learning. Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition are its four stages. Every level reflects a distinct approach to integrating technology into the classroom, ranging from substituting conventional tools and materials to developing fresh, cutting-edge teaching methods. Because it gives educators a common language to discuss how technology is used in their classrooms, the SAMR Model is essential for integrating technology into teaching and learning. It also helps educators create and implement effective learning experiences that maximize the power of technology to improve student learning and enables them to assess the impact of technology on teaching and learning. By using the SAMR Model, educators can ensure that they are using technology in a way that is meaningful and beneficial to their students

The aim of SAMR model was to share a common language across disciplines as teachers strive to personalize learning and help students visualize complex teaching content and it can be used especially in remote and blended learning. Integrating SAMR Model in education makes teaching and learning a wonderful experience for educators and students, since it not only enhances student engagement but also fosters critical thinking, creativity, personalized learning experiences, teacher efficiency, accessibility, as well as data-driven decision-making, ultimately leading to more effective and enriching educational experiences.
