Maps are never purely objective creations.

  • Can be influenced by standards, values, beliefs and limitations of the creator

  • Also can be influenced by politics (Gulf of America)

  • Pressure by society to change the map - makes it less accurate

  • Maps are subjective to what the viewer accepts

  • Old printed maps can not be changed which means they don't reflect reality (territories change faster than the maps)
