response 2 - hydrogen represents pony boy because hydrogen is the only gas on the side of the metals and means its different from all the others but similar to the other family born into the family of the greasers but is more like the socs.
response 3 - the male Rheas are like darry because the males take care of the young/kids and darry is always looking out and taking care of them and is protective of his brothers and is willing to do anything to protect them.

poneyboy is the outsider of the groop and so is hirdgin.
darey is hard on poneyboy cus he is triing to prtekt him gist like the father.
on the have nots side, there is a few houses that aren't as lavish and don't have much. But, on the other side there is one big house that appears to be much nicer. this could symbolize that the socs wit what they have in life and how blessed they are and the greasers live a poorer life and don't have as much.
