Seeing that the cases of confirmed infection is reduced in these few days and the past week, the government thus announced the resumption of work of civil servants, which required them to go back to their office for work from then on. This action triggered controversies in society as Hong Kong was in a situation of undersupply of surgical masks and other preventive equipment. They worry that if they do not have enough protection against the virus, they may as well be infected. Besides, the office gathers a ceertain amount of people, where the risk of transmission is even higher. Therefore, the citizens of Hong Kong were skeptical of the decision made by the government that work has to be resumed before the demand for masks is to be stabilised.
