The job of a workplace mentor is important, yet not everyone in the office is suited to it. An successful business mentor must be able to dedicate the appropriate time to each mentee and have great communication skills, both speaking and listening. They must also maintain objectivity, maintain a calm and patient demeanor, and bring a pleasant attitude to each session.

It is critical that the workplace mentor is self-assured enough to lead mentoring sessions and provide suitable counsel and assistance customized to the mentee's requirements.

 

There are many different development goals that may be reached via mentoring, and it all relies on the individual mentees and what they need from the sessions, as well as what areas they need mentored on.

 

The mentee's involvement is essential to the mentoring process since there would be no need for mentors if mentees did not exist. I consider the mentee's job as having two aspects. One is that they need to be mentored by an appropriate individual in order to further their growth with a certain position or task. The mentee must also be committed to the mentoring process, educate the mentor on what they need mentored on, and assist the mentor in determining which learning style is ideal to use.
