Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many people loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone out of the way. A peasant then came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to push the stone out of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant went back to pick up his vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.
· Which narrative perspective do you plan to use: first, second or third person?

· What type of narrative hook are you planning?

· What is your setting?

· Who are your character/s (no more than 3)?

Changed version:
In ancient times, a King and Queen were ruling their kingdom happily, until one day, the king grew hungry for power and planned to poison the Queen. She got to know about this information through one of her maids, who quietly told her the news while serving her morning tea. Worried, she planned her escape, and set out in the night in her carriage, off to somewhere safe. However, whispers of these doings got around quickly in the castle, and soon, the king himself heard of this. He came up with an evil plan: He would place a boulder on the roadway so that the queen would not be able to escape. It could even cause some damage to the carriage!
Meanwhile, the unsuspecting queen set out on her 'nightly stroll', where she quietly boarded her carriage in the dark of the castle...

A man who was riding a cart pulled by a cow came up to the boulder and tried his hardest to move it. Eventually, he grew tired of the effort and resigned himself to going back home instead of heading to the market (the cart was too big to be pulled along aside), Many blamed the King and protested on the streets while he sat in the bushes, laughing silently at his foolish subjects. Then, a man carrying vegetables stopped at the boulder. He put his things down and started to push. He pushed and pushed, harder than the cartman before him. But his old age caught up to him, and his back let out as he pushed the boulder. He cried out in pain and stood there, hunched in agony. He needed to go back home, but home was on the other side. He needed the vegetables; he could not just leave them there, but the sack was too large to fit in the thin crevices of the boulder, nor could he throw them to the other side (he had tomatoes and other soft vegetables in there). He finally realized his predicament. He looked around, no one was there. He resigned to do it himself. He stretched his aching back, and pushed, and pushed, and pushed with all his might!
