As we near our senior year, the most important factor for me would be financial aid. Getting into a college and getting into a good colleges are great aspects to think about, however knowing how much tuition, other misc things that you would have to pay is also equally if not even more important. FAFSA and scholarships are very fundamental when you go to college, in a scenario like you get into a very prestigious college, obviously you would want the maximum cheapest rate you would want compared to paying with student loans or out of pocket.

A lot of the factors made me rethink the school that I wanted because at the school I wanted to go too has a c- safety. Which is really low in my opinion and very concerning. I need a school with good safety so I have nothing to worry about the school. I put that saftey was very important to me because it can really make me feel at home. Another thing was the quality of the professors. This is because if the professors are okay I am not gonna learn that much. Why am I going to spend so much money to go out of state if the professors are not the best of the best it is such a waste of money.

Yes, some of the factors did make me reconsider some of the different colleges that I want to go to. This is because one of the main things that I want a college to have is affordability. This is because I do not want to pile up a large amount of debt even though my life has just started. Another factor is that I don't want to go to a college that is super small, or in the middle of no where, so this project made me realize that.

When it comes time to make my final college decision, I think the most important factor for me will be the quality of that schools Finance program. This is because I want to major in finance and have a career in that field. On the other hand, the least important factor for me will be party life. This is because when I enter college, I will be too busy with my academic life and building my future to do something as inconsequential as partying.

I think when choosing a college most people might over-look the freshman retention rate. People think that the most important thing is the graduation rate but I think it is important to know how many freshman actually return to the college for their second year. Because if the school of your choosing has a low freshman retention rate than that is bad because it means most students dropped out after their freshman year. On the other hand if the school of your choosing has a high freshman retention rate that is good because it means that most freshman had a good enough experience to be able to return to the college for a second year.

The 3 factors that most stood out to me were location, size of campus, and cost. Starting off with location, I want to live near my parents because I don't see myself living far. Just in case of an emergency I want to stay close. The size of campus matters to me because I get overstimulated easily and don't want to go to a huge school. The cost is the most important because I want to go to a school where I don't need to take out a loan.

Three factors that stood out to me the most in the article are admission rate, financial aid qualification, and cost. They seem pretty self-explanatory; however, they all mean a lot to me because in the past, I've noticed that schools with a lower acceptance rate tend to be more expensive. I am also planning to pursue nursing, which will be a few years in college, so I don't want to be stuck in student debt after I finally finish. A financial aid qualification because I want to be able to have access to scholarships and many more options.

The most important factor for me in a college is probably the reputation of the college and the opportunities the medicine department offers me. When it’s time to make my final decision, I’ll be looking at the school’s prestige (UCLA > CSUSM, for example), how good the career opportunities are, internships, average income of a graduate from that department, average debt, and what work studies are offered there. A factor that is the least of my concerns is the party life and greek life, since I plan to be in and out of college fairly quickly without much concern for social life.

The top factor that made me rethink in what college I’m looking was Jobs right out of college because you can go to such a good college and get your degree but even after 4 years it may feel like you did it for nothing due to you not even being able to get the job, you spent all those years practicing for. Another factor was transportation because if I live off-campus would the school be able to pay for any transportation expenses, because it can really add up especially if I have to go on a bus or train there and back.

The three factors from the article that stood out the most to me were safety, course availability and location. Safety is my biggest concern when applying to college. I want to be in a safe area, where the crime rate is low and be able to walk around the city without being scared. Also, just so my parents aren ‘t so worried about me and how I am. Course availability is another one. I have to check what schools have the major I am majoring in, before even applying to the school. It will be pointless applying to a school that doesn’t have the program I want, and wasting my money. Lastly, location. I want to be in a big city where I can be able to do various activities outside of college. I want to be able to go out with friends and go to nearby cafes or shopping malls.

I think one factor that is largely overlooked is the jobs you can get right after school. Students often think about what they are going to do at school, and while they are there, but forget to consider what they will be doing fresh out of college. This is important because knowing what your options are gives you an opportunity to transition from being a student to becoming employed. Part-time jobs and job programs can also prepare you and let you gain work experience, which is extremely important.

Personally the most important factor for me would be location. I say that because going to college is a big part of anyone's life and depending on where you put it will bank off of how much you will enjoy college and how much you retain as well. The second most important would be living on campus because what's important is where you live, depending where you live could make or brake your college experience. The last most important would be curriculum, say that because you need to be able to trust what you are learning and knowing that its going to help you in the future.

One of the main factors that made me rethink what I'm currently looking for in a college is the quality of professors. After reading this article I realized that many schools don't have the best professors and having good professors is important in college. They have the power in educating on how well you will know the material in your major. Which is why I believe this is important because I don't want to spend lots of money just to have a professor that will not help me in the future.

Factors that people overlook very often are the "freshman retention rate". People often like I do, don't really care about whether if people come back to the same school or not as there are always programs such as the studying abroad, study by sea, and international exchange exists. Other schools like a given scenario such as Harvard, like dude when you get into Harvard I AM going to go there again. It is no question, otherwise freshman retention rate is one of the more underrated as the statistics often are not measured in many highly prestigious universities like UCs and Privates.

I wouldn't want to waste my time or resources on a class that doesn't really teach me at all. So academics come first enjoyment later.

Money is an important factor for me because I don’t want to spend a whole lot of money for a college. I don't really care at all about having Greek life at a college and I would even go to a college without it as a whole. To me I don't really see the need for it especially because it is just additional costs on top of everything else. You are pretty much paying someone to have friends and I don't really like that. My most important factor would be the Spirituality or the safety statistics. If I can go to a school that has religious beliefs I will always feel at home there and those are my favorite types of colleges. Safety statistics as well because I don't want to go to a school I feel unsafe in and have high chances of things happening to me or those around me.

The reason I chose these was because I feel this directly correlates to the education you want and how I learn. I learn more when there are less people around me so the teacher can focus on me more specifically. Quality of professors is a given because you obviously want a good professor when paying for an education.

As Senior year comes closer, the factors that will guide my college list the most include cost, admission rate, freshman retention rate, safety statistics, and quality of professors and the department of study. The first major factor that I will consider is the acceptance rate for a college. If a school has a competitive admission rate that does not secure attendance, it is important that I apply for a safety school along with reach schools to ensure admission into a university. The next aspect that will impact my decision is tuition. To prevent being stuck in debt after college, it is important to consider the price demand of a school and your ability to stay on top of payments. In addition to price, I will pay attention to the safety of a campus. Since I will likely be far from home and on my own, I want to ensure I will be safe on campus and that the crime rates will not be high and affect me. Also, retention rate is an important factor to consider as it shows how many students return to a college after their first year. If this rate is low, it can reveal whether the college is a strong school or if many students were not satisfied. Lastly, I will consider the quality of teachers and the department of my major because this is the distinguishing factor for becoming a highly educated and competitive student. Without educated and skillful professors, you will not earn the right guidance or support to reach your full potential. Also, if a school does not have a strong reputation for your chosen field of study, it is important to avoid these schools to be able to get into an environment fit for your career path. This will likely be my biggest influential factor as to whether or not I will apply to a college, since I want to thrive in my chosen major, so the college needs to be able to provide a strong environment. In sum, these factors are extremely important, and I will research them through college pages and trusted websites like Niche to make a well-rounded decision, as college is a major part of our lives.

Safety is very important because you don't want to feel uncomfortable when you are at the college you choose to go to. Demographics is the least important for me because I don't really care about other demographics while for some people it can be very important for them to make a decision.(91)

I didn't consider these factors when I was looking into colleges. I thought of Location, graduation/acceptance rate, size of campus, and cost. Those were my top Factors. But now it's changed. Safety stats are is important to me now. I want to feel safe wherever I go, and not worry about being harassed. I didn't know about the Alumni network factor. But if I want to be someone one day, I have to have a stronger connection with people because they're the ones that are going to help me.

I never considered that there might be times in college where I will be fully alone and walking at night to the library or home from a given place. I never realized the importance of safety in college because in high school we are not at the school at nighttime you are in familiar places at night. I think this is one of my big factors now when choosing where I want to attend for college because I want to feel safe and comfortable in college without having to worry about my safety.

As kids I feel like we are used to being in a bubble the whole time and we are excited about the thought of college but the reality is far from easy. As a college student you have to juggle your adult life and falling behind isn't much of an option anymore. You have to discipline yourself because there isn't going to be anyone there to do it for you. You also have to understand the cost of providing for yourself and be less dependent on anyone and be more independent. College in general is a huge shift in your life and you're going to have to be able to know how to handle it.

For location, I would like it to be in a seasonal area, unlike here in SoCal where there normally aren’t any large differences in weather. I would also like it to be in or near a larger city, so that movies, restaurants and other amenities would be nearby for convenience. If possible, I would like it near the coast. For cost, I would attend only if I could afford it without the need for student loans and/or if I had enough money and merit to attend comfortably. Safety is an all-around concern, since I would like to live in an area without a high crime rate.

I know that many people almost ignore the differences between the prices from other schools but it is really important to pay attention to the prices. The quality of professors are important because you would obviously need a good professor to teach you the material. If you are stuck on a problem and need help, then a good professor would guide you to the answer. I also believe that the student-faculty ratio would be important because the more adults there are to help you, the less stressful it will be for a student. Finally, the last factor that stood out to me was the alumni network. It stood out to me because the size of your schools alumni can depend on how easy it will be for you to find a job. A strong alumni network can give you a higher chance which is why it stood out to me.

I think that students look at the professor more than they look at what they are going to learn. For example, they have a website for looking at ratings of a professor. When they should really be looking at the curriculum and seeing whether or not that college has what you need. An example would be going to UCSB for business and when they are more focused on marine biology.

Greek life participation stood out to me because I want to learn more about being in a sorority. Admission rate stood out to me because I don't want to apply to a school that has a low admission rate because it could be wasting my time, if it is a low admission rate there could be a chance I don't meet there standards.

I think one of the main factors overlooked when choosing a college is the student to faculty ratio. Many students dream of going to big well known schools which is good and all but I believe there needs to be a realization that the more known the school is the bigger amount of students that will attend that school. For example going to a well known school like Berkeley will be harder to get that 1 on 1 time with your professor for help. While with smaller schools the classes are much smaller and it is easier to get one on one assistance.

Safety is very crucial for me when picking a college. A given example would be UC Berekely or UCB formally, it has one of the best programs on campus and I believe it now withholds the title of best UC school as of now on top of UCLA. Although all these statistics like food, price, and education plays into the stirring pot, safety is absolutely needed as well. Many newspaper articles have featured UCB to be one of the worst UC school campuses to study as frequent crimes are committed weekly. Stabbing, Shootings, and others often occur on the campus thus proving and making me rethink despite having one of the best engineering programs and majors. So overall, I do not believe I should solely base a school off of just their education, academics, tuition cost, and others but safety as the #1 crucial factor to enter a good college. UCB on the side note is located near Oakland, which is in the top 5 cities in the state for having the worst crime rates.

First off, I want to be able to feel safe somewhere that I will be attending for four years of my life. I do not want to be worried if I need to walk home. I am also worried about the freshman retention rate because it is important to me of whether or not freshman's returned to their school after freshman year. That shows me how their first academic year went. It shows me if this is a common string of people leaving after freshman year. The last thing is cost. Cost is always a big factor in schools but especially in private schools. I want to attend a private school so knowing how much it will cost out of pocket and with financial aid is important to me.

The factors that made me rethink what I am currently looking for are jobs right out of college. It's important to look at the percentage of students who get a job right after graduation. Depending on the school you go to, they may have programs that are great for students, so they have the opportunity to find a job. They can also help with the transition from being a student to a full-time job. Graduating but also getting a job right after makes you feel complete as you're ready to actually start doing things in your field.

The factors I think students overlook the most when choosing a college include safety statistics and the quality of professors. Many students apply to a college for the name, rigour, or price, likely ignoring how safe the campus is or how educated the teachers are. It is important to consider safety since students will be spending the most time on the college campus, so they need to ensure the environment is comfortable and education-centered. Also, since you will likely be far from home and independent, you want to pay attention to how safe you will be, as there have been a lot of incidents at colleges in the past. Along with this, it is important to ensure professors at your school of choice are qualified with both teaching skills and real-world skills so that they are capable of providing you with a good education. Researching teachers at a college will help ensure you don't get held back from your full potential because of others. As a college student, you need the support and guidance from your professors to essentially become a strong and well-educated student. Before this project, I didn't consider these aspects either, so I believe others will likely forget about them as well. With this in mind, it is important for students to complete the right research before picking their college by considering these aspects, along with many others.

What's the point to applying to a school that has a very low acceptance rate and that has so many other students competing to get in. I want a fair chance but I also like a challenge. Factors that aren't important to me when applying to a college is Greek life, or Party life. Yes living with a group of people would be cool and nice, but I think I would prefer my own space. Parties are fun but I don't care for them. I'm going to a college for a reason and that reason isn't to party. Yes parties would be cool, but I don't care for them.

My biggest concern would be cost, for all transportation, moving, room and board, etc. I will attend the most prestigious, reputable school I can within the limits of my financial aid, since most schools at my match level have a transfer program that lets me pay the base tuition amount while attending another school either in-country or abroad.

Safety statistics I will research the amount of crime in the area, around and on campus, and then determine if it is to much for me. Spirituality I will research by looking at what percent of the students are in what religions and if they have any religious clubs around campus I could be apart of. Lastly the quality of my department of study I will research by looking at how many graduates there are in my line of study and look at reviews online of what previous students have said.

Most of the stuff I read, I never thought about considering the quality of professors or the freshmen retention. Being able to know about other things to consider when looking at colleges will help me have a better understanding on what exactly my ideal school is but also apply to the schools that fit my requirements.

A factor that will guide my college list the most would be cost and admission rate. Of course, I want to focus on a school with my major and that is close to home; however, I want to be able to stay out of debt as much as possible while being near my family if need be. It would also be very difficult to be away from my dog. Cost isn't a huge deal for me, as I am sure my tuition will already be paid for because of my dad. I am not sure if it is true for sure; however, my father fought in a war and gained some issues from it, such as hearing issues, permanent back pain, etc. Because of this, I have been told that my siblings and I will have our tuition paid for. I wish I knew what it's called when this is done, and I'm still not sure if it's a real thing, but if it is, it will be very beneficial for my siblings and me.

There are many colleges out there and that is amazing to know and see. I feel like as long as you choose a college the suits you is setting yourself up for success because you will be motivated. I believe some of these factors listed aren´t as important to others and that in general will help people choose the right college for them.

The three articles that stood out to me the most was Quality of professors, safety statistics, and course availability. The reason why is because I want to go to a school with great professors people that are the best of the best and I will get the best education for myself. The reason why I put course availability is because the classes I need to take for my job I want to be able to know that I am going to get in those classes because if I don't what is the point of even going because I am not going to spend so much money to take classes that do not benefit me. The last thing is safety because I want to go to a school that feels super safe. I can just go get my education without the risk of anything bad happening to me that will ruin my chance of learning. I need to attend a school where there is very little crime and bad things happening so I can focus on my education.

Some people think that going to college will insure you a career but that's not the case. When you're going to college with a not so good education, you may find it hard finding a job right after. That's why when you look for colleges, you should look for schools that are great in your area of study. It may not sound important now, but it will help you in the long run.

They tend to overlook this factor because they don't really focus on how many freshmen go back for their sophomore year. They are more focused on how many students get accepted. They should look at this factor because they need to be aware of why the freshman decided to come back or decided not to. This can be academic pressure, and they didn't pass their freshman year. Or they didn't like the overall school life.

The factor that I think will be the most important when I make my final decision for college is the quality of the department of study and the location. Personally, I think it is essential to go to a college that is known for a strong reputation in your specific major, since you want to get the best education possible to pursue your future career successfully. For example, I personally want to go to medical school, and to do so, I need to become a competitive student with a strong education. This strong education is rooted in the college you choose, so consider your major and the rank your school has for successfully supporting your chosen department of study. In addition, the location of the college is important since it is a major factor in providing you with good opportunities for career and personal growth. Depending on the city your college is in, it can prevent the opportunities available to thrive outside of school, like jobs and internships. This will hold you back and influence your preparedness negatively, so I would prefer that my college of choice be in a bigger city. Location also affects safety and crime rates, and since I will be on my own, I will make sure the environment is safe before settling at the college. In contrast, the factors that I think will be the least important when I make my final decision for college is party life and sports participation. My goal for college is to get a good education to help me with my career path, so I am not interested in whether there are parties or not. I would prefer a college centered around education and goals that will help students become successful and stable in life, so parties and school should not mix to cause distractions. Also, I am not interested in sports, so this aspect doesn't impact me. The college I choose will likely be more focused on education rather than its reputation in sports.

I think when choosing a college most students look over is the graduating class indeptness. This factor is the amount of dept students after graduating from certain schools are in. This is important because if a lot of people who graduated from a school are in debt then you most likely will be too. Dept isn't a fun thing that you are going to want to be in and can be pretty hard to get out of. It is a burden that you won't want to have for super long and most students don't understand that.

I think the most important factors for me are location, acceptance rate, and cost are most important to me. The least important to me in general is party life and Greek life those things dont call me more stand out to me because that is something I am not looking forward to. In the end my most important factors will make or break if I choose a school because I want to be close to home and I want to be able to afford the school I want to attend.

A factor that made me rethink what I am currently looking for in my college is the number of working students. This isn’t something that I’ve thought about when researching colleges. Working in college is something that I would want to consider and now I know that I should look into how many students at that college work. It's good to know students are able to manage work and school at this specific college. It also made me think to look into opportunities that the college may offer.

I think the most important thing for me is the admission rate. It's like the first thing I look for when looking at colleges. It gives me an understanding of how competitive this school is and how well the curriculum might be. My least important thing is probably the student indebtedness. I know some people might say it's important but I don't think that I will pay much attention to it because I will already be worried about other debts.

The three factors that stood out to me the most when I read the article were Transportation network, freshman retention rate, and Cost. Alumni network is important to me because I need a strong connection with people to get myself to be someone. Freshman retention rate it also important because it's the amount of freshman that came back to continue their college path. Cost is a key factor because I don't want to finish college in debt. I want to have a clean slate and start my career.

For me the most important factor in making my final college decision would be the cost of tuition and financial aid, because I want to make sure I can afford the college without too much debt. The least important factor would be party life. Although it's really fun, especially to go with friends I would rather focus on my studies and future career first. If I'm heading to college it would be to lock in instead of getting distracted and I'm also not really a party person as well.89

One factor that I think most students overlook when choosing a college is transportation. I think this is the most overlooked because students will need to get around school and it will be really hard especially if a student doesn't have a car. Students should be able to know how to get around the college they are attending and they won't be able to if they don’t know the transportation that is offered at or near colleges.

A factor that many students may overlook when choosing a college can be Graduation Rate, because graduating is more important than where you go, you can go to your dream school but then find out that many of the students that go there don’t even succeed to be able to graduate. Another factor can be Student to Faculty ratio, this basically means how many students are in a class, being a very large class can make you partly invisible to the professor or be in a smaller class of 30-40 students where your professor can formally know you.
