My practicum was a great learning experience where I got to apply what I learned in class to real-life teaching. I improved my skills in planning lessons, managing the classroom, and keeping students engaged. It helped me become more confident and better at meeting the needs of different students.

I especially enjoyed seeing how creative and fun activities helped students learn and participate more. I faced challenges like managing time and helping students with different abilities, but these taught me how to adapt and grow.

Overall, the practicum strengthened my love for teaching and showed me how important it is to create a positive and supportive environment where students can do their best.

Something I think we can use in our classrooms to enhance storytelling is incorporating storytelling techniques when teaching literature. Did you know that studies show students are 22% more likely to remember key details and themes when teachers narrate a story with expressive tone and gestures? It’s a simple yet powerful way to boost comprehension and engagement.

Here are a few ideas to try:

I've realised that the students are most preferably hands on learners. If they're not given a task to do while the session is going on to give them a better understanding of what is being discussed, they won't be able to follow along.

Overall, the experience was amazing.
