Pathos: He utilizes peoples sympathy when he describes the police force beating unarmed and defenseless African Americans. As well as imbuing a sense of pride when talking about how deep and old African American culture is.
Logos: he utilizes logos when talking about how it is wrong to use immoral means to gain moral ends, but it is more immoral to use moral means to gain immoral ends.

Language that excluded the audience: they made cotton king; and they built the homes of their masters in the midst of brutal injustice and shameful humiliation—and yet out of a bottomless vitality they continued to thrive and develop.
Allusion: They will be the James Merediths, courageously and with a majestic sense of purpose facing jeering and hostile mobs and the agonizing loneliness that characterizes the life of the pioneer.
